Air Marshal Director Resigns Because Of Illegal Gun Scheme
BY Herschel Smith10 years, 7 months ago
The director of the Federal Air Marshal Service is resigning after being investigated for his role in an alleged operation to acquire guns for officials’ personal use, FoxNews.com has learned.
Director Robert Bray’s home was raided in December in connection with the ongoing probe. Law enforcement and congressional sources told FoxNews.com that Bray’s recently announced resignation, which is effective in June, is directly related to the investigation.
Bray allegedly is among several officials who were obtaining weapons through this operation.
The Department of Homeland Security inspector general probe — which also is believed to involve the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — stems from whistleblower accusations involving federal Air Marshal supervisor Danny Poulos.
He is accused of using the agency’s federal firearms license and his relationship with gun manufacturer Sig Sauer to obtain discounted and free guns. He then provided them to high-up agency officials for their personal use, according to whistleblower documents obtained by FoxNews.com and interviews with multiple officials with knowledge of the ongoing probe.
Let’s see: avoiding form 4473 for his friends (check), using influence and power for personal gain using tax dollars (check), potential bribery to obtain government contracts (check), cronyism and corruption (check).
Because laws are for little people.
Just another crook in a position of power. Are there any honest, hard working people in the Obama administration … anywhere?

Is it just me, or is the ATF seemingly everywhere lately? Even in places they don’t belong. This incident involves firearms, ok. But recently there seems to be an uptick in visible action by BATFE. It’s always “DHS and ATF”, or “FBI and ATF”. I’m frankly surprised this totalitarian overstep in Nevada doesn’t have BATFE “coordinating” with BLM.
It’s disconcerting.

BLM tried to get any fed agency with air and assault assets to join them and take over the operation (FBI). Fortunately, word was spread by one of the fed agencies that this was another scam similar to Waco, where there was no factual evidence of any crime. ATF rightfully, for a change, begged off. Everyone else asked BLM for proof of title authority, they had none! The AUSA in Vegas determined that BLM was breaking more laws than it was enforcing, and told them to shut up and sit down. The thing to look for is the firing of the BLM supervisory staff and publication of the political instigation.

Athough I don’t excuse this guy – he did violate laws the rest of us wouldn’t get a pass on either,
I offer this observation –
If he had been with any other Federal agency would he have been prosecuted?
The Air Marshall program is not a popular program with powers that be. He just chose the wrong position of power to abuse.

Actually, and as usual, atf got it wrong. If you are LE, you get LE discounts on guns. The gun must be used in the official performance of duty, and can be used in training (obviously) since training is personal use (obviously). The gun must be kept a minimum of one year, then it may be sold or transferred. There are no laws against selling the gun. There are laws about who may buy the gun. If the guns are sold or transferred to other LE personnel, no harm no foul! No laws were broken, just some punk atf supervisor issuing illegal orders to lemmings doing his or her bidding. Ask atf why they have turned down, or refused to prosecute, tens of thousands of cartel related gun crimes handed to them on a silver platter by other fed agencies like FBI, DEA, and HSI?
