Because they thought his crutch was a weapon. No, I’m not kidding.
No charges filed. Meanwhile, gangs run free and citizens have to deal with more onerous laws every day on their right to own and carry real weapons – not the prosthetic leg kind.

The man admitted to a felony. He said “no” to a cop. The only reason he was not charged is because the city would have to pay for his hospital care and provide a guard. It is easy to understand that the police are way too overwhelmed by work to provide a guard. Anyway, another thug is off the street. We can all feel safer.

I guess you never filed a lawsuit against the .gov, have you ?
First off, one has to find an attorney who will represent you. Those SF attorneys won’t shit where they eat. They all feed at the .gov trough.
Secondly, the effing lawyer wants X-amount of money to even take one’s case. On average, $500/hour ! Then the case drags on for years and they continually want more money. Are you ready to send some loot to the abused citizen who the badged thugs violated, say, $5k for starters ? (Yeah, that’s what I thought).
Lastly, one has to deal with the low-life in a black robe. Unless it’s a criminal suit the jury verdict doesn’t mean crap ! The black-robed bastard, you know him/her as “judge”, can throw out the jury verdict. They have the institution of “can do no wrong” government to protect. And they WILL protect the .gov’s interests. After all, they are on the .gov teat.
Oh, and even if you get to a preliminary hearing, the .gov will argue that the abused, plaintiff citizen has “No Standing”. Look it up, learn what it means in legal-land. In essence, it means one was not “injured” by the actions of the defendant. It’s another way for the .gov to skirt responsibility for their actions. Oh, and the judiciary stands behind that argument quite often. Case dismissed.
Really Owl Guy, you folks who believe that it is so easy to execute a lawsuit need to wake up and smell the coffee. The court system is rigged AGAINST the citizen plaintiff. You guys who keep believing there is “justice” through the court system and a private citizen lawsuit are truly asleep at the reality of life in these former United States of America.
Lawsuits….you can put them where the sun don’t shine!
Hemp and lead. Those are the only solutions to aggrieved citizens.
