No One Has Operational Control Over The Border Region

Babeu was on a helicopter tour of Mexican drug cartel scout locations in caves in the side of mountains throughout the desert about 70 miles inside the U.S. border. Essentially, that means U.S. sovereignty is gone for hundreds, perhaps thousands, of square miles throughout the American southwest.
Babeu was leading the helicopter tour with Dr. Ben Carson, a GOP presidential candidate, after briefing Carson on everything happening at the border.
Among other things that Babeu showed Carson and Breitbart News on this helicopter tour were how this far inside the border on high ground there are scores of scout sites where cartel operatives serve as lookouts for smugglers bringing drugs, people and other contraband into the country.
“If they can operate up to this degree, 70 miles north of the border, in law enforcement we call that a clue,” Babeu said in a brief exclusive interview outside the helicopter after landing back at the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office. The lack of United States sovereignty this deep into the country is highly concerning to Carson, who told Breitbart News that this shouldn’t be happening.
“We should stop them at the border,” Carson said. “They shouldn’t be 70 miles inside the border. We should stop them at the border. As the sheriff indicated, if we were to take like 6,000 troops and put them at the border, you wouldn’t have those people coming inside the border.”
Seriously? You mean actually stick troops on the border and give them robust rules of engagement where they shoot at bad guys? Gosh, I wish I had thought of that!

A friend of mine, keeps telling me he as a perfect solution and that I need to buy a long range rifle. Namely, his solution is a bounty on Mexician cartel members, dead or alive. Maybe, $50 a piece. It would save money and bring in a lot of sportsmen. Not sure that our President would approve.

The US military, which has a massive footprint at or near the Mexican border, is well aware of the drug cartel incursion. They allow it. As does the US Border Patrol. This is US government policy. Would Trump change that? Who knows, but most Presidents will do whatever the CIA/NSA/Pentagon tell them to do. The last one who didn’t was JFK.

Facts are stubborn. A market in mind/mood altering substances has existed for centuries and there is no way to stop it. Prohibition does not work. All it does is cause allure, raise prices and turn market makers into violent criminals. A multi-billion dollar global war will not stop this trade. It will just get a lot of people killed and cost a lot of money. God, parents, family, friends, and neighbors is how you keep someone off drugs. There is still the issue of a bunch of free stuff to anybody who can hitch a ride to L.A. This causes human smuggling. I pray for the poor folks (girls especially) that are transported. Facts are stubborn. The U.S Govt. has caused both of these situations. Other tactics not ruled out, But of course, and in the mean time foreign occupied, armed outposts inside the U.S should bare incoming air to ground rockets with follow-up ground ops.

I live on the border. I can stand on my porch and hit the fence with a .300WM. I don’t know what everyone else is seeing, but I’m there and I’m not seeing it. Yes there is crime, but not the magnitude that is implied. The bad guys can’t afford to do bad things, EVERYBODY here is armed. Concealed or open, but we’re ALL armed. There’s a Border Patrolman every few miles on the road or on the fence. Smugglers? Yes. The BP gets pulled off the area when they come through….kinda funny huh…..!
The military patrolling the border? Yeah that’s a good idea…..NOT! The flood of migrants is more of a Texas, California thing. Illegals don’t want to cross here, meaning where Carson visited, because there is nothing here. Fort Huachuca? Yeah…good idea to cross over into the headquarters of MI…NOT!
There are more guns and cops per square mile here than Beverly flipping HIll’s! There’s way more here than a bunch of dudes smuggling dope. I’m afraid to guess what that is, but to me, this place is quiet. A great place for the cops of all agencies to milk an extra 50 grand a year in overtime.
Put your boots on the ground here and you see something different. I ride horses on the fence road…..haven’t seen a truckload of anything yet. There was that tunnel in Naco, BP took it down.
Just saying that the sky ain’t falling down here.

Yea, everything is just peachy. Meanwhile, there are between 20 and 30 million illegals here, and many more green card workers to whom you and I provide “free” medical care, SNAP payments and welfare. But everything is just peachy. Quiet … even!
