Josh Earnest On Guns And The No-Fly List

After watching this, I’ve decided that The Captain’s Journal will call for a ban on guns for all one-armed men born on the third Thursday of April. After all, you never know when they will become a terror problem.

Show me in the Constitution/Bill of Rights anything about secret lists. Being used to strip citizens of their weapons/rights. Gov. Malloy is Obama’s litmus test again.

There was an interesting video clip of Tray (Trey? sp) Gowdy questioning a DHS person about processes (lack thereof) for American Citizens to NOT be added to the No Fly list. — or the due process before they ARE added. The only process is after the fact, where you apply to get off the list and MAYBE your request will be approved.
An interesting example: The 8th Amendment on Cruel and Unusual Punishments. If we “don’t like you, we’ll put you on our list and subject you to cruel and unusual punishments. We will do this until you apply to get off the list, if we approve your request!!!!”

Sure, except that those same “national security interests” preclude DHS from confirming or denying that you are on that list, or why you might be there, or what you could do to be removed, and so that process is bunk. To my knowledge, one person has successfully challenged it and been removed, and he spent years and hundreds of thousands of dollars in court to do it. For most people, there is no feasible resolution to finding yourself on the “No-Fly” list.
And again at 2:15: “It is not our view that we should wait until someone who’s on the ‘No-Fly’ list walks into a gun store, legally purchases a gun, and kills a bunch of innocent Americans, before we pass a law preventing it. That’s a common-sense view.”
Let me rephrase this a bit:
“It is not our view that we should wait until someone who’s on the “No-Buy” list walks into a book store, legally purchases a Dr. Seuss book, and reads it to a bunch of innocent Americans, before we pass a law preventing it. That’s a common-sense view.”
Yeah, sure it is, Josh.
