Yea, I’ll bet he didn’t want to elaborate further. Consider that. The presence of a gun. Let it wash over you again. The presence of a gun. Consider its implications for you and anyone carrying a gun.
His lawyer is floating his case now in an attempt to get the prosecutor to drop any potential charges. This is his case. “The presence of a gun.” He shot the man because of the presence of a gun.

Pennsylvania strengthened their preemption laws recently, and gave them teeth (i.e. the state can sanction or fine municipalities and/or the people that run them for keeping and enforcing stricter gun laws than what the state allows). That has not prompted some cities like Philadelphia into repealing their more restrictive laws, or prevented them from enforcing those laws.
They’ll keep them at least until successfully challenged in court … which could be quite a while, given all the delays, hearings, appeals, etc., and could cost quite a bit, since the State is unwilling to exercise its authority and instead relies on private plaintiffs for such actions….
