Note To Rock River Arms

Larson took after the good folks at The Truth About Guns, which she referred to as an ‘activist website’. “This boils down to a small, so-called gun-rights activist website that took the majority of things out of context, to make it sound like Rock River Arms and Springfield Armory were IFMA,” she said. “We did not have control over all actions. IFMA acted autonomously on our behalf.”
[ … ]
Larson then decried Illinois politics, which have almost become a blood sport.“I can’t get into all the details of the politics, as this is still a very real threat,” she told Mark. “Now, we are left with partial truth and fake news driving wedges between the different parts of our firearms community.”
Listen to me. This is the wrong response. The only wedge that has been driven is between RRA and your customer base. The gun community – at least as far as I can tell – is pretty much in full agreement on this issue.
I don’t particularly care for TTAG either. Their writers resolutely refuse to link anyone or exchange traffic, or frankly even debate issues within the gun community by their completely ignoring other gun web sites. I once sent Robert a link and he responded that he would be happy to publish me as a writer if he gets the first 24 hours before I post the article to my own site.
Um … no. That isn’t how this works. But in spite of the disagreements between me and TTAG, they followed this issue fairly well and published the full truth as far as I can tell. If not, then challenge the facts. Don’t call them “fake news,” or “activist website,” or a “so-called gun rights web site.”
That’s insulting. I wouldn’t even do that.

So, it (the company) is caught between a customer base that will no longer buy it’s products and the Illinois politicians. You are done, bye Bye. These people might as well have walked right into Bloomberg’s office and asked; ‘How can we help you drive us out of business?’ Incredible. Baring Illinois’ pols getting them a gov contract as a bailout, I don’t see how this company survives in it’s current form.
If you work there you need to seek other means of sustenance NOW.

Both companies just keep digging deeper and deeper holes IMHO. ON Armed American Radio, Larson literally screwed the pooch. Also now top banner on The Gun Feed is Springfield’s Leni Riefenstahl-esque propaganda video. I think Lee Williams at The Gun Writer does a really good job of dissecting this tripe. The video is full of slick production and patriotic imagery and all that. The video however only tells a partially true story. Says nothing of their seeking a carve-out for themselves or anything. The SA CEO basically blames everything on the lobbyist.
And I’ve got no love for TTAG either. I used to visit there all the time, despite Robert Farago’s lousy way of writing stories…..but they were cool with people in the comment section calling veterans “murderers” on Veteran’s Day no less, so I ditched them as a news source for good, but in the case of this story they are correct…. The rumor over there is that SA and/or RRA might actually try to sue not only the lobbyist, but TTAG. That would be a very bad move.

Oh good grief. Sue them for what? At that point even TTAG haters would come to their defense.
Lord, what a bad move.
If they had only paid me a little bit, say gifting a rifle to me, I would have worked tirelessly to rehab their image the right way (not using this blog, but consulting for them – could I have done it any worse than whomever they hired so far?). As it is, it’s just getting worse for them. It will reach the point of no return, and that’ll be it for them.

Just watched the Springfield video. The fudds may buy it. The ‘we have lot of jobs on the line’ part really got on my nerves. That’s HIS responsibility and HE should have thought about that before…
And the NRA Gold Jacket? Is that the same ‘pro gun’ lobby that gives gun grabbers A ratings, that same org that systemically introduces and supports anti 2A legislation? That NRA?

I believe we on the right are way to quick to get at each others throat at some mere accusations .
You see this all the time.
or if someone from our side uses a tactic we happen to not agree with we call them “fools” or even worse..
Or if someone form our side goes too far (whatever that is)… the left closes ranks but we often insult and denigrate some of our most hard core activists this way..
but I digress..
In general these habits makes us vulnerable to “wedge propaganda”.
As the name implies it is a technique were you publish “news” etc purporting to be from a member of your political opposition.. who has a beef with another member of your opponents.
A primitive example we have all read is the “I am a long time gun owner But the NRA bla, bla…” drivel we seen published by our political opponents (or enemies maybe the better term)
Another typical accusations leveled in this technique is Insufficient orthodoxy as this goes to the identity of who are are dealing with and make sit easier for us to reject , ignore and belittle this potential ally.
In this case am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and to say an honest mistake has occured and ..
….I am not going to demonize (or fall victim to demonization) of fine firearms companies that we all loved and were friends with just a few days ago.
How valuable is our love + friendship anyway if it can turn into contempt, hatred even.. this quickly??
..because that’s what I am sensing in some of the comments..

Jeeze – do these people even have a clue about their customer base? I believe David Codrea use the quote “don’t piss down my neck and tell me it’s raining…”
