A Modest Proposal For Gun Control
BY Herschel Smith7 years, 2 months ago
Focus the protection of the Second Amendment on keeping nonmilitary arms at home for self-defense, while putting an escalating standard of protection on other kinds of arms and uses … If individuals want to own semi-automatic assault weapons, either as collectors or for practice shooting, then enforce a provision that such weapons can only be kept at legally registered shooting ranges or other registered depositories, and cannot be removed from the designated premises.
To the author of this silly piece, Jeff Sachs, I only have one thing to say. Any time you feel froggy. Go ahead and come after my guns any time you feel like you have a chance. Oh, I see, you intend to send others to do the dirty work for you? That “enforce” thing might get a lot of people in serious trouble, and I don’t mean us gun owners.

And when they come for the guns, I won’t be home. I’ll be at his house burning it to the ground with everybody inside.

They keep pushing, keep pushing. Sometimes, I think they’re just probing, trying to get someone from our side to strike first, by a) making some of us angry enough, and b) convincing us that gun/ammo confiscation is inevitable.
They don’t want to do another directed-kook attack, what retired SEAL and author Matt Bracken calls a “Professor Raoul X”, because that hasn’t worked out before (Vegas, Hodgkinson vs Rep. Scalia, Sandy Hook, etc). And they know we’d sniff out a false-flag attack in a hot second. So, what do they have left? Prod some young hothead on our side to attack. Not just break into some wildlife sanctuary building ala Malheur, an actual attack. Preferably on Democrats. Further preferably on members of the media or elites.
Such a modern small-arms Fort Sumter would be disastrous. We should do all we can to prevent it. But neither should we abide an attempted mass confiscation.

I don’t own any “military arms” . Mine are all militia grade weapons . No burst. No full auto . But hey , they DO look scary to those that know nothing about arms .

Gun controllers don’t decry guns or their use – they just want to send armed men to “take” our arms. None have the balls to try it themselves.
