Brownells’ Channel Terminated By YouTube

TFB:
In a move that is both shocking and unsurprising at the same time, the video hosting powerhouse YouTube has terminated Brownells’ channel citing violations of their “community guidelines”. In the professional business of gunsmithing, tools, parts supply, accessories and more recently firearms sales, Brownells has been a pillar of the shooting community for nearly 100 years. While countless old-fashion catalog sales companies died off with the ecommerce revolution, Brownells adapted, embracing online sales and customers with an easy to navigate website and strong social media presence.
It is unclear at this point what part of the community guidelines YouTube alleges that Brownells violated to get terminated or if there is a possibility of being reinstated. However, as channels with a heavy following continue to receive strikes, warnings and terminations, the fate of user and corporate generated firearmscontent on YouTube are becoming bleaker by the week.
TFB closes with a wish that the channel would get reinstated.
I understand that YouTube is the 900 pound gorilla in the room, but I don’t wish that at all. I wish that YouTube would get some good competition and gun owners wouldn’t have to go there for anything, begging for crumbs that fall from the master’s table.
Google is in bed with the CIA, and Google owns YouTube. Thus, YouTube is essentially a FedGov entity. As if you needed anything else, this is what FedGov thinks of your firearms. Beg, peasant. Beg.

Full30 and BitChute are growing alternatives. In the mean time, install an ad-block. There is no reason to give youtube any ad revenue. Starve the beast.

The problem with normal competition for YouTube is that it’s impractical as long as the Goolag is willing and able to subsidize it to the tune of more than a billion a year from their sole cash cow of advertising, it’s a domestic form of dumping. And that’s on top of their massive advantage of low cost computing and networking, something that’s in their DNA from the very beginning. The best hope is that their social justice convergence (rule of the purple haired) will ruin their advertising business, which for example depends on having very smart people keeping them one step ahead of the scammers.
(I would say something about how the wealthy on the Right might subsidize an alternative, but we know from history that’s not going to happen with the old Right, and unfortunately delivering video is a very expensive proposition.)

Instead of demanding that all gun laws be immediately repealed. And demanding it under threat of war if necessary, the ‘gun rights’ crowd is reduced to asking permission to remain relevant by requesting to speak on the left’s terms and in the left’s battlespace.
This is the position of the subjugated. You have already lost the war.

Apparently YouTube reinstated Brownells’ channel Sunday night after the fallout.

Fred: to quote Jerry Pournelle, “Despair is a sin.” I also have to wonder, which war have we lost? We still have many ways to communicate over the Internet, even if it’s trending towards samizdata, people continue to buy guns in record numbers, and use them. In my home town this weekend an armed citizen stopped a road rage murderer from going further, something our local police welcome.
The totalitarian mostly Bay area tech left are indeed running riot, but people are getting increasingly tired of their antics, and they depend on a great many things we’re in a position to deny them sooner or later.

H, Every minute spent trying to “conserve” the current infringements is time lost that could be spent demanding to be left free, or else.
The effective taxation rate is 50%. The guv is a captured debt ridden cesspool. Guns are being confiscated outside of law, no due process, in CA and NY and now FL all without a shot fired. That IS subjugation and not fighting back is to have already lost. It only takes one party to a war for it to exist. I use here the classical liberal definitions of war. I’m not despairing. I’m, apparently unsuccessfully, attempting to jar loose the will to fight BACK by going on offense.
I’m certainly glad that an armed citizen was able to defend life. I’m disappointed that anybody would consider this, what has become, a given permission as winning. Who gives a flying fuck what police think of my weapons. The purpose of free men at arms is so that the kings men have ZERO say so in my business. I don’t love my permission that the kings men approve of. Fuck permission, fuck the king, fuck the police. No king but King Jesus.

You think saying things like “You have already lost the war.” is doing that in any way?

H, Obviously I do and it is. (I now retract the use of the word ‘unsuccessfully’, heh.) You’re not happy with the statement and rightfully so. It’s working, you have simply misapplied the lesson and your subsequent ire by going after me instead of the ones who are kicking our asses up and down and sideways proving my point that you have already lost the war because you’re fighting the wrong enemy.
You know what I like about TCJ? That folks don’t usually take things personally, especially about generalizations directed at nobody or everybody and that the level of critical thinking is usually pretty good. Perhaps because my comment immediately followed yours you have mistaken my intent. I was not addressing you personally with that sentence. I was responding to and agreeing with this: “begging for crumbs that fall from the master’s table…Beg, peasant. Beg.” If I’ve offended you I did not intend to. Lighten up here and redirect and apply fire at the actual enemy please. I like you and read your comments with interest, by the way. Then again, if you are personally or emotionally invested in the use of youtube then, well, you deserve to be insulted. Oh, and just to be clear; fuck the king’s police.

Fred, to repeat my point, I’m responding because I think your actions here are counterproductive, aside of course from advocating for the gospel, which is not exactly a radical position on this blog….
They are perfect examples of why the Right in the US continues to lose badly. Presumably because I don’t sufficiently buy into your world view, you respond with vicious attacks on what you think to be my attitudes and character, disregard of the plain words I’m speaking, and searches for motives that even I would be mostly hiding from myself. And thus you turn a potential ally into … well not an enemy, but not someone who will lift a finger to help you with your particular program. And there’s no basis for us to work together on the common ground we share.
That’s the best interpretation; pretty clearly I haven’t found useful any specifics of how you advocate we “[go] after … the ones who are kicking our asses up and down and sideways.” because I don’t remember any. But focusing on your #1 position in this discussion, you say “fuck the king’s police”. Just what exactly are you advocating, seeing as how you’re not commenting on this blog from inside a penitentiary?

So, you and which army are going to make “war” on the entire US establishment when, as you very well know, it doesn’t immediately repeal all gun laws? (Even if the Supreme Court did what it currently finds to be unthinkable, it would be many years before every gun law was finally struck down.) Again, I’m asking for specifics.

I have also stated that burning DC to the ground and ensuring everybody there, including Fairfax, be hanged from the neck until dead is a pretty good option.
What army? Well certainly not the ‘pro gun’ people whining at youtube which was also a point I made. The politicians only fear us in the abstract if at all. They need to see the look in our eyes, the determination in our faces and resolve to be free and they need to see this one on one and in groups. Ya known, I’m the only living soul I know who has told his reps up close and personal at almost every level that I will not be disarmed. Many of the reactions were of total surprise. It would seem that most of them had never been defied before. They were too shocked to even deny that they wanted to. If all gun owners did this, and wrote, and called every day for years it would work. So this, and find and teach new shooters. That’s what I advocate. Ground Game. But don’t worry the NRA (National Redflag Association) will save us. Oh, and the SCOTUS does NOT have the final say on our laws, this is a fiction, we do. And isn’t gun ownership the implied threat of war already? I mean if it weren’t why would government want the guns, right? And I don’t have an army but the left is building more than one right now. And nobody cares what I think because all of the correct answers involve generational or at least a lifetime of hard work.

Much better, and I generally agree. But getting back to my original point, I don’t see how you build a Ground Game by preaching what comes across as a council of despair. Especially in a society where as a general disarming strategy that’s been effectively preached for decades and decades.

I’m glad you approve. And now that I’ve warned anybody who would listen, my moral responsibility having been satisfied, I’m at liberty to shoot both left and right in the face if they need killing. This sounds harsh but actually it’s the proper and gentlemanly thing in the western tradition. Good day.
