John Travis Is A 1911 Encyclopedia

Via reader JoeFour, this link is an veritable encyclopedia of knowledge of the 1911. I intend to print it out, read it, and keep it handy. In the mean time, it would be nice if readers would peruse the contents and lift the important things out for us here, or merely the interesting things to you for commentary and discussion.

Kinda wish I had read this before I sold out to the plastic striker. One of my weapons that would not run well probably suffered from one of these indicators that I was too ignorant to figure out. Oh well, I didn’t much like the gun anyway but would have liked it more with this solid knowledge. It wasn’t a 1911 but this is still applicable.

@Ken,
No. No they don’t. I noticed that last night when I perused the site. So you have to scroll down and read without them. It’s all there, just without the “send and return.”

Here’s an excellent article by Mr. Travis and make sure you read the comments following the article, too. Also, RangeHot has several other articles by him … just click on his name and a list will pop up.
