Ammunition Control Proposed In Michigan

BY Herschel Smith

DFP:

Davis’ “bullet bill” ordinance would build a new structure for purchasing ammunition around law enforcement approval. Potential buyers would need to undergo a mental illness background check with their local police department or the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. They would also need approval for each purchase – except at gun shows, where showing a certificate of a previous mental illness check would be sufficient.

Finally, the ordinance would raise taxes on ammunition and use the funds for gun safety and gun rights education – teaching “about the second amendment, about how to use a gun safely and about gun violence,” Davis said.

[ … ]

If he gets the ordinance passed in Wayne County, Davis said, he would like to see it implemented at the state and, eventually, federal level.

Since they haven’t been as successful as they would like in gun control, they want ammunition control, gun manufacturer bank account control, and mental state control.  Because controllers got to control.  It’s who they are.

I expect the statists will do this at the federal level as soon as the power structure changes just a little bit in Washington.  At it will, soon enough.  These are trial balloons at the local and state level right now.  Expect this to expand.

I don’t believe anyone who proposes such a bill should ever be able to get a “certificate of mental wellness.”

    Mr. Smith,

The author of this ludicrous attack on Freedom & Liberty, Reggie Davis, 6th District commissioner is a goner. A dead duck (lame, that is).

Davis was removed from the 7 AUG 18 primary ballot after Monique McCormick challenged homeboy Reggie’s Affidavit of Identity. Reg failed to comply with Michigan law and did not use his legal, birth name when registering for election to 6th District county commissioner. Th court upheld McCormick’s challenge to incumbent Davis’ being on the 7 August primary balllot. He got BOUNCED from the ballot. McCormick is on the November general election ballot.

Reggie Davis may be able to secure a “”certificate of mental wellness”. However, this Wayne County communist cannot even properly secure a place on the election ballot. D-bag Reggie is history as is his ammo control proposal.

I wanna get me one of those certified free-of-mental-illness cards. I will laminate it and carry it around in my wallet. When six out of the nine voices in my head say that it’s time to load mags, I can pull out that card and find assurance that all is still fine.

My second-favorite bumper sticker reads “I can’t go to work today. The voices told me to stay home and clean the guns.”

Yeah. Just ask the Police what your rights are and you’ll find you don’t have any. The problem may be defined as Institutional Narcissism.

Those can also be called a “Party Member In Good Standing” card, indicating your rank, informational clearance, and privilege level.

“free-of-mental-illness cards.” I thought that was what a concealed carry permit was after you go through the processes for Virginia and Utah!!! ;-)

    @Jim –

Guess you’ll have to explain the Utah reference.

Well, the idiot Cuomo tried that…at first the dimwits at the state thought they would just tap into NICS. Well, that is not designed for the volume. Then they decided to “build it themselves”. 50mm later the State Police told the governor that it was a fools errand. So now they’ve just quietly dropped it.

I’m not Jim, but perhaps I can help explain….

A lot of CCW people get a Utah permit, because it is honored in so many other states. Ditto the CCW permit for Arizona. Between the two, you get coverage in most – but not all – of the fifty states. And many of the states not covered by these two permits are places that RTKBA people probably don’t want to visit anymore than necessary anyway, i.e., NY State, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.

This is essentially the strategy the gun grabbers have taken against muzzle loaders. Selling real black powder requires special facilities and extra red tape. Most gun shops just can’t justify the trouble. So you either can make do with a substitute, which doesn’t have the shelf life of the real stuff and doesn’t work well for flintlocks, or you go for a long drive to one of the few who sell it, or you pay an exorbitant hazmat fee to have some shipped.

  11. On September 19, 2018 at 7:34 pm, Michael said:

Ah, gotcha. I live in Utah and am well aware of the benefits of their permit. I just couldn’t figure out how they tied in with Virginia.

Police are going to certify me as not mentally ill? That’s comedy gold right there.

“According to China’s Communist Party, the system will “allow the trustworthy to roam freely under heaven while making it hard for the discredited to take a single step”.”

Obviously, everyone who reads this website is “discredited” in the eyes of the state.

Crusty – chinamart is doing EXACTLY what ‘social media’ was Designed For- the ‘mapping’ of People and their Relationships. Combined with Mass Computing Centers that continuously Filter the Data through a ‘Threat Matrix’- type of Program, it provides the bolsheviks with far more ‘useful’ Data than simple Communications Intercepts.

Of Course, once (((they))) try to Implement something of this nature here, it should be considered a “Red Line” just as any Gun Registration/Confiscation scheme, and Violent Non=Participation will become necessary.

I find the whole thing rather Entertaining, as I have NEVER had any use of these type of social media systems… I doubt that the ‘system’ has sufficient Data on my Identity to assign any Value to Me other than “Enemy of the State”.
