Was interested until this a-hole called his genitals “junk”. I have absolutely no time for stupid people and stupid comments. Hopefully he wont use his “junk” to foul the human gene pool.

Rifles, shotguns, and AR-pistols should have slings. ALL of them. I’m partial to the one marketed by LaRUE Tactical, installed as a single point sling, it’s padded and quickly adjustable. If a rifle is too heavy for single point, two point works. Some even favor the three point “Ching Sling” type.

@ragman I read dictionaries, encyclopedias, hydraulic and variable frequency drive tech manuals, military field manuals, TCCC manuals, seed books, first aid manuals, Fed Reserve quarterly reports, etc, etc, etc for fun. I have three patents ranging from fluid power servo control to field machining to paper/steel mill fluid lubrication condition monitoring; onsite, remote desktop and IIoT cloudbased. So I am a geek when it comes to the precise application of language much less technology. Really, junk, that’s your beef – sheesh, whatta wanker.
@Pat Hines +1 on the slings. Different weapons platforms can be challenging. My crew (yuk, a son in law whose Airborne Ranger Dad left him with no weapons saavy, my son who, as an elite athelete is a CQB not to mention +400m stud, my daughter who is the FFA weapons team sponsor at her NC school). For some reason, I really struggled with my 20 inch Mossberg and my 20 inch Remmy SPS with Magpul Hunter stock – could never really find anything that felt comfy. Settled on Magpul products.
@Pat Hines. Are you in NC? I go to Leeds in Chester A LOT but I am looking for a spot to sling lead farther than 100m. The Cap’n has extended me a possible holiday meetup if I behave myself on his blog. I am really looking to generate local (Charlotte/NC/VA) meatspace community. I tried it with the OKs but it got sketchy and unravelled quick when I was living uptown Charlotte not to mention the local head dude suddenly exited te the local OK scene stage left.
I have solid contacts with farmers and ranchers in SC from 30 mins to 1.5 hours from Charlottr. I also have several folks that are doing organic farm to table BtC delivery bidnesses. Would love to network. Cap’n, how can like minded Charlotte MSA dudes meet in meatspace?

If you're interested in what else the The Captain's Journal has to say, you might try thumbing through the archives and visiting the main index, or; perhaps you would like to learn more about TCJ.
