Rift Over NRA Highlights Fundamental Divide Among Gun Owners

David Codrea:

So what are we supposed to do? Pretend deep disagreements don’t exist?

No.  We don’t.  My readers would be shocked at me if I pretended anything.  Make sure you read the comments.  They’re all over the map, some pointing to compromise with the NRA, under the rubric of “This is exactly what the progressives want to do – divide us.”  “We must be united.”

My view if fairly simple.  The NRA is the most well-funded, largest, most powerful gun lobby on earth.  They gave Trump the idea of red flag laws, the bump stock ban, supported the Hughes amendment, and on and on we could go.

Why would I give any more money to an organization like that?

Let the NRA tank and no matter how you feel about them the most powerful and effective opponent of the gun grabbers in existence will be gone. It will be like voting for Ross Perot and winding up with Slick Willie all over again. Split your forces in the face of an implacable enemy and you get
    “defeated in detail”.

I suspect a large percentage of NRA members belong only because a local range requires it. Those who do care about protecting their God given rights can join state organizations, or GOA.

As BRVTVS said, GOA. Not as well known, not as publicly vocal, but from what I understand, very effective in the halls of Mordor on the Potomac.

Did you know that Russia canceled a trip to the US to work on joint projects with NASA because, they said, America is already in a civil war? If you didn’t know that the war had already started, welcome to the party, Pal.

The NRA are illegitimate as a firearms rights organization. You may not claim to be for something and then support its destruction, well, you can, but that makes you a liar and not legitimate. The NRA supports Red Flag weapons seizures from people who have broken no law. The NRA is illegitimate but why would this surprise anybody since they support a government that is illegitimate?

The Federal Government fails to protect the external borders of the states that created it for this very purpose. The NRA takes your money and fails to carry out that which it claims to have been formed to complete. The Federal Government takes your money and fails to execute (Presidentially) the constitution which it claims to defend. America, and all of its governmentally attached institutions including the lobbying group NRA, are illegitimate.

The NRA supports Red Flag laws making it the world’s largest gun control organization. America no longer exists; it is illegitimate by its OWN standards and measures.

Here’s why all of this matters; the NRA backs police, the organizations that are taking firearms without evidence of a crime. Most people don’t want to think about this stuff, and I’m not talking about suburban football watchers, I’m talking about people who claim to be patriots. Nobody wants to talk about how the supporters of Trump are the enemy on the right. That’s right, Trump is illegitimate. He supports taking the property of people who have committed no crime. That is the exact opposite of the charter formed for the purpose of that office.

If we had a pro gun president, judges and justices, and states Attorneys General, state and federal congressman, state and federal police, mayors, heads of local police and heads of sheriffs, all would all be under arrest for violating the civil rights enumerated in the framework by which we made covenant one with another to be whole and free.

Trump is illegitimate and has finally proven, once and for all, plainly to see on its face, that fixing the problem from within is no longer an option. Will you accept this? Because if you don’t, you are the problem, you’re clinging to the hope of governmental reprieve from its own horrendous actions means that you are lying to yourself and therefore turn yourself toward illegitimacy. Right? Is a lie legitimate? Do the ends, justify the means? Are you a communist?

The federal government defends foreign mineral rights while denying you access to your own. This is illegitimate. The federal government defends killing millions of those who have yet to draw a breath. This is illegitimate. The federal government defends the taking of other property without compensation or due process. This is illegitimate. The pentagon refuses to defend the border under article 4, section 4, making it what, an army of a foreign power? Is this not seditious, is this not treason? The US military is illegitimate. The list is endless. It’s volumes and volumes. The entire Federal Register is illegitimate.

There is no on-balance argument to be made because any such argument embraces sin against yourself. What kind of man embraces sin against himself and his fellows? A worshiper of evil, that’s what kind.

“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

I suppose that one could make a claim ignorance but; “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

America is illegitimate, a lie, and all that it continues to do to the ruination of property, life, pursuit of happiness, and the desire of free men to be left alone is sin.

This is what sin does. The Holy Bible is not some ridiculous rule book it’s the Word of God, a vital understanding of how a person, a family, and a nation succeed or fail in this life…and the next. Sin divides a man asunder, destroys marriages, brings tribes to ruin, and wrecks whole countries.

When the Soviet Union collapsed they managed to contract into a largely homogeneous country with common heritage and national identity. In that contraction they took their military equipment and weapons systems with them except for the Ukraine. But the Ukraine had long unsettled grievances as to the manner by which they would be governed, and not so much tribal hatred. The Ukraine was very forgiving for what the communists did to its fathers. The Ukraine simply declared itself independent from the former eastern bloc and from the western. For this the west seeks to ruin it. Russia did not start the Ukraine civil war we did because it would not submit to the NWO cartel. Civil wars are more complicated than this of course, there was underlying tension but why, as the US government consistently asks, let that go to waste? This is what your illegitimate military and illegitimate national government does while persons with illegitimate claim to be American are invited by ALL parties to poor in.

There is a point to that aside. The NRA are turned into the jetsam of government sin spewed out in the hopes of saving a sinking empire. In all my prayers that the LORD would make our judgment swift and true and short, and that He save a seed alive that we might glorify Him, I have to begin to wonder where our nukes will end up.

Sleep well. The days are short.

Quoted from a Washington Compost article from 22 Feb 2018:

“I have never believed in the general practice of carrying weapons,” said Karl T. Frederick, according to a transcript of the hearings. “I do not believe in the general promiscuous toting of guns. I think it should be sharply restricted and only under licenses.”

Frederick’s words were notable … because of who he was: the president of the National Rifle Association.

’nuff said. They’ve been a gun control organization for a long time, folks.

It’s a membership run orginization. If 3 to 5 thousand new, like minded members from each State joined for the 40 bucks or so it costs a year AND voted as a group they could make the dog hunt. Get together
and form a bloc, then go for change. Too many guys are purists, sit on their high horse and wind up sad and sore as the left keeps making inroads.

  7. On January 23, 2019 at 9:58 pm, Mike said:

I* remain in the camp of “reform”. The structure of the NRA is sound, it just needs new leadership and a full dedication of ALL monies to fighting ALL anti-Second Amendment laws in every state through NRA state affiliates as well as fighting bad laws emanating from Washington D.C.
