The Sinoloa Cartel Declares War On Water In California
BY Herschel Smith5 years, 7 months ago
From Wirecutter’s Place, this disturbing piece from California.
Quite some time ago, the Sinoloa drug cartel took up shop in Humboldt County, CA. Today, they are controlling much of the marijuana trafficking from a region that is now often referred to as the Emerald Triangle. They engage in illegal water diversion to irrigate their crops courtesy of Nancy and Paul Pelosi. They have trouble with rodents and small animals eating through the PVC piping. Subsequently, the Sinoloas spread and extreme toxin on the perimeter of their property to kill all-would-be invaders that would destroy their PVC piping. The United States Forest Service has become aware of this practice because of the threat to both the drinking water for millions of Californians as well as the dramatic effect this can have on the food chain.
Besides using rodenticide, the pot growers liberally spray their plants with highly concentrated insecticides such as carbofuran, a chemical that can seep through soil and enter ground water….
“The water lines get gnawed on primarily by rodents, so they scatter rodenticide pellets along
the pipe,” Thompson said. “But the water catchment pond and the actual camp are draws for all kinds of critters, so we find rodenticide pellets as well as open cans of tuna and cat food laced with insecticide. The tuna and cat food targets species like foxes, bears, and ravens. ”The killing effects can spread up the food chain, in a process called bioaccumulation, as larger predators feed on the smaller, poisoned animals. In one memorable case of bioaccumulation that Thompson observed, a fox died from consuming insecticide-laced bait. All the fleas, ticks, and flies on the fox died as well, and a vulture that fed on the dead fox also died. A recent study (link is external) by California State researchers on owls further validates that toxic levels of rodenticides and insecticides are entering the terrestrial food web.
Carbofuran’s chemical formula is C12H15NO3. “Carbofuran has one of the highest acute toxicities to humans of any insecticide widely used on field crops … Since its toxic effects are due to its activity as a cholinesterase inhibitor it is considered a neurotoxic pesticide.” Cholinesterase serves as a neurotransmitter.
There is also this potential side effect. In one study of rats, Carbofuran in sublethal amounts decreased testosterone by 88%. Great.
Other insurgents know how to use water as a weapon of war. Whether intentionally or accidentally, diversion of water supplies is open warfare. Too, poisoning what remains of the water supply is serious business. Call it was it is: warfare on all accounts. Don’t look for the folks in California to do anything about it.
So just to be sure, if you’re smoking pot, you could be inhaling rat poison and Carbofuran. The rat poison can make you very sick in nonlethal doses, and the Carbofuran suppresses your testosterone. If you smoke that stuff (I don’t), enjoy your doobie and have a good cry. I’m also glad I don’t live in California.

It’s also getting to be a serious enough problem that PCT hikers are warned about the dangers of encountering a growing site. https://www.pcta.org/discover-the-trail/backcountry-basics/safety-tips/danger-cultivating-marijuana/

I’m wonder at what point: A) we should stop eating vegetables, produce and animal protein from CA, and; B) other states will establish embargoes on CA food products (which assumes “other states” are both interested in the health and well being of their citizens and are smart and brave enough to do something about it. I rate the chances of either as pretty close to zero).

What seems to be the problem? Isn’t produce required to be labeled by point of origin? So if this bothers you, don’t touch anything from Kalifornia. Why would you be concerned if the hive dwellers eat this stuff???

If this is in the water supply, it could affect produce as well.

I’ve gradually turned into a bit a food snob so this kind of thing catches my attention. There is a whole ‘nother aspect to what’s happening here. Nothing in media is just the thing presented. Weed is legal in CA but the legal (government taxed and regulated) market is having trouble competing with the free (black) market. Seems there’s not that much relative profit in paying the State for permission to grow, distribute, and, sell. All media is somebody’s propaganda but true anyway is that the legal provides a product that is much less dangerous although the side affects and long term consequences of smoking pot are obvious not mention that the carefully cultivated are much more potent in most cases. (that sentence goes 3 places with no conclusion, do your own homework)
Anyway, the legal market should be able to easily crush the black market. The overhead of security, secrecy, and avoiding the State is very high. The price of weed should be falling exponentially and not just disinflation but in a deflationary manner driving down prices not just in CA but especially in other legal States.
But CA is communist and the overhead paid to government is nearly equal to the overhead costs of the illegal market. What will the State do? You get one guess. Hint; not lower tax and regulation overhead but maintain or even increase the War on Drugs. It would be funny if so many lives weren’t going to ruined or ended. On a future date an “independent” or even state agency will do a cost analysis and determine that the revenue from weed does not cover the ongoing attempts to exterminate the black market but nobody will care. They are communists.
I’ve been following these developments with interest since I’m (very modestly) invested in a basket of refer stocks. For another day is how I justify that before Holy God. The short explanation of which is a trillion dollars, a million dead, and zero reduction is availability and potency leads me to believe that before prohibition there was not a mass drug problem. The Church back then did it’s job and didn’t try to outsource to the State God’s basis of His people being of a moral authority by way of a War on Drugs, as though such a thing would do anything but drive prices up and get people killed. In here somewhere, and not just the drug war, this needs further development, is the basis for my rejection of State Christianity under the IRS code. We may not outsource our job as the Light of Christ to government in tac gear and expect anything but a pagan society, rampant use of mind and mood altering substances, and 70 million dead babies.
Oh, and the food snob thing; bioaccumulation is denied by the FDA in the national industrial processing of human food stock although it’s a well know fact in nature. Grandma wasn’t loopy, you are what you eat. Why would the FDA allow your children to eat known poisons? Power and Money, same as always.

Here in California, an ever increasing share of our “fresh” produce is shipped-in from Mexico, Central America, and South America. Must be cheaper to grow pot in California.

ya know what? The more I pull the thread in my mind about owning refer stocks, purposefully and outright, the more I could be wrong. Writing it down has certainly helped me understand that my position may not be justified. The point is, if you’re Christian don’t copy this behavior from me, woe to me for publicly mentioning my ownership that it might mislead my brother. Keeping in mind that one cannot own a piece of a company except to own a piece of the sin of it’s officers and employees. And I’ve been all through the so called socially responsible and catholic funds etc. Those companies are as sin filled as the ones in any basic index fund. There are none, no, not one. But direct investment in refer or booze may not be without consequence before Holy Christ.
The market analysis both legal and black is sound however, as far as I know, in good faith.

Not to worry about contaminated food, in this instance. as all water in Humboldt county flow west into the ocean. no major food production there. and pot has been their economy since logging was killed by the spotted owl.
What they use to grow pot, both legal and illegal grows, is going to prove to be very hard on the end-user. (as if the product itself won’t be).
As for the war on drugs?
I’m sick of people trying to tell how bad probation was. ya, we lost ‘moonshiners” and “revenuers”. and the usual end-users. and you want to compare that to the wholesale destruction that “legal alcohol” has caused on our hiways? and in our families? Don’t believe me? go ask any cop what his job would be like without and alcohol in it. more stupid shit gets done everyday behind that crap than all drugs put together! Ya, Ya, I know, the reasonableness argument. “there’s no reason why I can’t have a drink after work to relax a little”. your right. but it never ends there does it?
Pot helps people with cancer and autism. ya, and after a couple years you look like you have cancer, and act like an autistic! and I’m not so sure pot isn’t the cause of some autism.
Make it legal and the price goes down, and its safer. So, the pot head in front of me, doing 40 in a 55 zone. the tweaker riding my ass behind. and the drunk weaving from lane to lane coming the other direction is changed how? we can tax it. to pay for the mop-up crew? Thanks! San Francisco has had defacto, “legal”, drugs for years. (watch where you step).
It gave us the police state! Yes. but you were going to get one of those anyway. to say otherwise is to deny human nature in regards to power. drugs were a perfect excuse.
I’m not a wise man. I’m not going to pretend to have answers I don’t. and freedom. is the freedom to screw up. I get that. but “legal” isn’t the answer either.

If the Sinoloa Cartel is operating with impunity inside California, then the inescapable conclusion is that California is a failed (hollow) state.
There are several scenarios possible here: First, the cartels are operating inside CA without the knowledge of Sacramento. Second, the cartels are inside California and Sacramento knows but doesn’t care. Third, the cartels are operating in CA and Sacramento knows it, but can’t – or won’t – do anything about it.
None of the eventualities above speaks well of the leadership of the state. Hence, the designation as a failed (hollow) state, just like Old Mexico hard on their southern border.
One of the most-cherished beliefs of the Left (Cultural Marxists) is the blank slate hypothesis of humanity, i.e., all humans are alike, regardless of where they come from, or their racial/ethnic/genetic origins. The present condition of California – Third World and sinking – puts the lie to that notion.
When you import millions of Third World people, you also import their culture (or lack of same), traditions, customs and ways of being. Given that virtually none of these peoples are traditionally American or European in their origins and outlook, we ought not to be surprised that they are neither American nor European in their outlook, customs and ways of being.
Nor should we be shocked that these new arrivals prefer El Patron and paternalistic government to the heritage constitutional republic the United States once was.
Trying to look on the bright side, maybe heritage Americans trapped behind the lines in “Mexico, El Norte,” will send remittances to their fellow Americans – just as so many millions of illegals in the U.S.A. have done to their fellows in old Mexico.

“Misuse” of Poisons for Pest Control (Weeds or Insects or Rodents) is a Federal Crime, and it says so right on the Labels of Every Regulated Toxic Substance for Agriculture. So… Last I heard, the EPA has Swat Teams with Automatic Weapons and Body Armor and MRAP’s. Isn’t stuff like this why our Tax Dollars have been $pent for the ‘Militarization’ of Regulatory Agencies? Wouldn’t the use of such Forces against a Foreign-Owned Criminal Enterprise be within the general principals of “Laws Enforcement” (?)
Wait, Wut?
