I used to go climbing at Crowder’s in college. My climbing instructor set up a Tyrolean traverse over a deep narrow gorge. Go halfway. Stop, look out, then look down and see birds flying below you. Unforgettable.

Oldest grandkid graduated high school last month in a class of 29. He got recognized on stage for signing up to go into the belly of the beast for six years. He shipped out to Ft Sill two weeks ago.
I now have greater incentive doing pushups. Doing them, I think of him and all the fun he’s having, as he pushes away Oklahoma many times/day.

High-stepping over passed-out homeless people on the sidewalks of Los Angeles and doing wind-sprints at the park to practice escapes from violent nutcases. Also, road biking while trying to avoid being run-over by some latte-sipping, yoga-pant-wearing super-mom, blabbing away on her cell phone while driving a 2-ton unguided missiles (usually a Land Rover or shiny, black Cadillac Escalade).
