Shooting A Revolver In Double-Action

This Magpul Extended Minute demonstrates what I find to be good practice. But you can always shoot in single action with the hammer cocked (even with DA revolvers), which gives you a trigger pull as light as a 1911.

His revolver looks like an internal hammer model, so double action is the only option for him. Given a choice between the 2 extremes, I’d rather have a classic single action revolver than a DA only model.

You’re right. I understand the rationale behind DA-only wheel guns (hammer can’t get caught on clothing when unholstering), but I always rather have a hammer gun. Always.

I paid for 1/2 for my mother a 642.(she insisted) As she got older the trigger got so stiff she couldnt pull it. Took it to a Smith& W., Smith. He said he did all he could do. It was good for me, but not her. I would NEVER have anything BUT a S/A, SA/DA wheel gun. Have several. I started with a SAA and cock the hammer all the time. All IMO of course
