Sure it can be done….all it takes is practice….a barrel of sufficient length….and decent conditions. Too much wind and it isn’t happening.

Open terrain 3 gun matches have targets out to 650. Lots of shooters hit those. Wind is always a factor. Usually 3 gun ARs have shorter barrels. Many 16 or 18 inches. Like Dan said, it takes practice.

Hitting the target is one thing. Putting it out of action is another.

I have a 600 meter steel target at our ranch. Every AR we own rings it without issue, whether 10.5 or 20 inch barrels. Iron, dot or glass doesn’t seem to make a difference.
As for harvesting anything outside of varmint category, I won’t judge another’s choices.
