Shooting The New Colt Python

Ken Hackathorn appears to like it a lot. The thing I really appreciate about this video though is Ken explaining proper revolver technique and procedure.

Thanks for sharing that. It would appear from his handling that they indeed worked that stacking issue to begin with. The odd custom shop Python of course was wondrous, but this looks to be a much better pull out of the box so perhaps they managed to do something right.

Arguably the best handgun shooter in the world, his take on the revolver grip is spot on.
I was a Border Patrol Agent and firearms instructor when we carried revolvers.
Thumbs down is the proper grip for a revolver.
The grip shown with thumbs forward is for automatics and works to control the recoil impulse of the slide banging back and tending to pitch the muzzle up.

Wow. Small world George. I was a PA as well. I was issued a revolver for quite a few years. A Ruger GP100. Great guns. Miculek is the one to listen to concerning shooting revolvers.

How I miss the ol’ double action trigger pull. My semi goes double on the first shot with all the others in single action.
Single action is probably faster due to the lighter trigger pull. Revolvers don’t kick that hard for all the power but I do loathe a snubby with ported barrel because of the residue flying back in your face and on your hand.
Another big plus with revolver-the shell casings stay with you and the heavy trigger pull might be too much for any youngster that finds an improperly stored gun.
