“Thou shalt not kill.” (Exodus 20:13 – the sixth of the Ten Commandments)
The LORD enjoins all that He commands! What does the Sixth Commandment mean; to allow killing with impunity, as a pacifist? Heaven forbid it, it means that all life is precious to Holy God (Genesis 9:6) and therefor it is just to defend your life and your people where (when) threatened.
I don’t know Mr. Costa, this is not slam on him or his family. My comment is meant to be instructive in a general nature.
Mr. Costa is correct, but the reasons are not lifestyle, although emulation is the best way, and obtw that is exactly how your children learn regardless, for the most part, of what comes out your mouth, a lifestyle, well that’s not good enough. It may have been good enough when men knew of where their duties and therefor rights came, but no more, America is past that time. If you make the assumption that emulation alone will do it, you are wrong. The emulation MUST be directed to Holy God and His commands or you’re simply creating another generation of lifestyle NRA-tards.
From Numbers 1:2-4 we find the usefulness, as a case in point, of teaching the youth.
“Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls; From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies. And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.”
War in that time was a nasty business of hacking men to death, usually to die days later in agony. In order for a man, YES MAN, of twenty years to be able to go to war, hand to hand with the rude instruments of the day, he, YES HE, must have been training from the day of his earliest attained maturity, not age, maturity, as seen through his father’s eyes, in prayer to Holy God, if yet the boy be ready to train.
Although the weapons and tactics have changed the lesson by God’s Holy Word remains. (but still; do you have hand weapons skills?)
This is why you teach you’re young boys to war, because it is the Law of God, sadly, in this fallen world, it’s a necessity. You have a duty!
And, you should teach your daughters as well. With the importation of millions of barbarians, understand that your daughters and granddaughters virtue belongs to Holy God, do you hear me men, YOUR DAUGHTERS VIRTUE BELONGS TO GOD, You must teach your girls to protect hearth and home but most importantly, their virginal integrity before God.
Even if you don’t believe in God, you are without excuse to teach these things to your children, and, you are without excuse when you will stand in holy judgement. He has revealed His creation or created order to you, as He does to each man, and at that time, you thought; there must be a creator, an order, a structure ordered by some providence. I know He did this for you; He does it for each man. And I testify to you that that order was revealed to me in the scale and structure of the atom and the solar system and from that day I knew that there was a god, though Holy God remained unknown because I, like you, failed to pursue these things to the point of prayer to the unknown god asking that he might reveal himself to me. And for this, I, like you, was without excuse.
Romans 1:18-21 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
But you can know Him and you can be saved.
“For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.”
You can know this God, the one true God; “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
That time is now, today, if that you would call out to Him. He wants you to know Him.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”
All of your good deeds, all of your being a pretty good man is not good enough. God doesn’t want pretty good men, He demands surrender to Him. He alone is King. To go from merely a subject, to a citizen in His Kingdom, you shall pledge, as it were, fealty to him by surrender and acceptance that only by the blood of His Son can you be saved from the wrath and death and hell that you deserve.
John 6:28-29 “Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
Believe on Jesus, the resurrected Christ, who this Creator, Almighty God, has sent.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Be made a citizen in the Kingdom of God. The kingdoms of men are but for a short time as they come and go. The Kingdom of God is eternal.
Be the soldier Holy God needs; on your knees, be anointed and appointed to serve Him. Ask Him, he is faithful, if you believe.
I think Mr. Costa is talking about the need for your children to see you worship and live according to your beliefs.
You may be making this too complicated.

Too complicated for who? I don’t know him or disagree with him. my comment is general in nature as I stated and not that I was hiding it, but evangelical, to perhaps explain how a man arrives at this point of worship and family and firearms as more than just a lifestyle. I suppose it’s to whoever God would have stumble upon this post. It’s not complicated, it’s only a mystery to those who don’t know God and perhaps I should have stated that up front. Believe, then worship, family, and firearms are right before God.
Too complicated as an explanation for what he was doing with his video.

The commandment actually says “thou shalt not murder”. Murder is unjust killing. Justified killing is acceptable, the death penalty is throughout the old testament, so is killing in self defense and war.
