I Took An Oath And Am Here To Support People Who Are For And Against The Second Amendment

BY Herschel Smith

News from New York.

“We’re a rural county, and a lot of people are gun owners and support the Second Amendment and were not happy with the SAFE Act, and I support all of that,” Smith said. “But I couldn’t take the lead and advise people to break the law.”

“I couldn’t lead it because I took an oath and am here to support people who are for and against the Second Amendment,” Smith said.

Have you ever heard such a cowardly and confused statement?  Try to dissect that.  ” … I took an oath and am here to support people who are for and against the Second Amendment.”

Where is something like that in any oath he took?  When did he take an oath to “support” people who are against the thing to which he was supposed to swear an oath?

God forbid, no. A sheriff in New York can’t oppose unconstitutional gun laws — it might cost him the $90,000 state pension he’s going to start collecting when he retires and moves to Florida at age 58…

Hey, I want to retire at 58. I want that gig. But not in Florida.

Only devout Christians can think within moral parameters. Nobody, knowing that one day they will stand naked in front of God and be judged on where they will spend eternity, would say something that stupid because self-defense is a God given right, not something written on a piece of rotting parchment.

    @Penses,
Although I understand what you meant, but there are folks who come here that are not necessarily Christian so a larger explanation may be in order. We’re right and there wrong is correct, but it does not edify.

That’s largely not true, that only Christians can or do think within moral parameters. Every man has his religion from which his morality flows; whether a man’s morality is at war with God, that is the question, that is the disconnect.
    Ecclesiastes 7:20
A man can be a good man, even do good things. The Gun Controllers are true believers in thinking that they are doing a good thing. Some of them help with orphans and widows, give to disaster relief, etc. and those are good things, but are as filthy rags to Holy God, unless it’s done in His name, by His leading. These works are not the work of God.
A man must be born again into the Kingdom of God, to be made righteous.
    John 3:3
The work of God is to believe on Jesus Christ, then your service can be blessed, and aligned with Him, if/as you study His Word, and pray and seek to follow after Him and do His commandments.
    John 6:28-29

My main point is, Penses, that they are true believers, and that’s what is dangerous to the point of millions getting bulldozed into trenches. Society is downstream of religion, and government is downstream of that society. This is America’s problem, it’s region is humanism; self as god.

The guy in the article making the wishy-washy statement has no other god than his need to be perceived as leading, waiting for the herd, then getting in front of them and declaring himself master. He’s a child on the playground who’s game the other children no longer want to play so he seeks to be at the head of the new game. Seriously, his is as an eight or nine year old in his thinking.

Professing Christians that are gun controllers are somehow stunted, deceived, or just ignorant from lack of study. Some, on the other hand, are agents of the State, hirelings. Sin is the problem, not an object. Those Christians seeking gun control are literally and actually worshiping voodoo as though a hunk of metal and plastic has power over a man’s soul or actions.

I want unjust shootings to stop. Last I checked there has NEVER been a man Justified of God that killed for any other reason than to preserve life.
    Exodus 20:13

If Christians were on point, America would begin to turn back to him.
    Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8

I am not exaggerating the pension or the retirement age one damn bit. A LOT of cops retire earlier than that.

Although New York is one of the leading states with obscene pensions, it’s not the only one. IIRC that chicken-shit deputy at Parkland who refused to enter the building and retired the next day got a pension in the $80,000-90,000 range. The cop in Arizona who assassinated the crawling, sobbing, begging, unarmed Daniel Shaver with an AR-15 with “You’re fucked” engraved on the inside of the dust cover got a pension for PTSD for $2600 a month… starting at age 28.

Getting the right government pension can actually be better than hitting the lottery.

Supporting those who are against the Second Amendment is NOT fulfilling the oath. The Second Amendment and the rest of the Bill Of Rights are not like latter amendments, they are Inviolable because the Constitution would not have been ratified without them. Additionally, Amendments can only be changed by amendments and when leftists (or others) use judges and agencies to weasel around or ignore or violate the law they are committing crimes against the Constitution and all citizens. Those who do so are the very enemies domestic that we swear the oath to defend against. They have no legitimacy and they and those who support such actions need to be destroyed.

Fred said: Every man has his religion from which his morality flows
As the Great One would say on his radio show, DITTOS.

Christianity is not bricks and mortar and sermons. “Where there are two or more of you I will be with you.” For a Christian every day is Sunday and every day is Christmas because we never know when He will return, therefore Paul told us we have to worship and pray constantly because the moment could be upon us instantly.

“Every man has his religion from which his morality flows…” Everyman does not have his religion. With God it is either/or. There is only one religion from which morality flows. Christianity. There is no inbetween for “professing christians” or any other religion because they are violating God’s law. That every human being has a God given right to self defense, among other commandments, is ignored by the politically correct and with any minor adjustments to that stance, they are getting further from God. Either/or, Christian/Not Christian.

Noah, Joseph, Abraham, and Paul were all Christians. Enoch was probably the greatest Christian that ever lived. He was never baptized. I have always envyed him because he never had to sit on a hard pew and listen to, what has become in most churches, rants. He walked with God on the earth and did not die. All believers, from the very begining, are Christians because there is only ONE religion. All others are cults who worship the devil.

The man in question is a churchianity churchologist worshiping the god of things, a cult that is emptying churches. He has no moral framework as is evidenced by his speaking with a forked tongue. Muh pension vs the Constitution and God’s Law. Professing christians are not Christians. They are mocking God. They are “true believers” in the god of things. Eric Hoffer wrote several books on the subject describing the mind of the leftist. If we had a school system based on Christian principles he would be required reading.

Love the mental gymnastics. Don’t worry about your spelling. Its the message that counts.

PS: Don’t google Eric Hoffer. duckduckgo. Fly under the radar.

    @Penses,
You contradicted yourself proving my point. If they are “true believers in the god of things” then they do indeed have their religion from which their morality flows.

  13. On February 13, 2020 at 11:00 pm, penses said:

What part of either/or don’t you understand. They are true believers in the god of things just as the muslims are true believers in Allah. These are cults. I made my point. Morality cannot flow from a cult, it can only come from God. The point I tried to make was they are true believers in nothing making them a cult. Morality cannot flow from nothing.

Muslims have a religion from which no morality flows.

Nature worshipers have a religion from which no morality flows.

Statists worship government, a religion from which no morality flows.

Yes people can “claim” to have a religion but without Christ it is a cult. Then they do indeed have a belief/cult from which no morality flows, but not a religion. When it comes to religion there can only be ONE.

  14. On February 14, 2020 at 9:42 am, Fred said:

They still have a morality that flows from their religion. You may not like their morality or their religion, Christ may reject them for their false works because of their religion which remains in sin (as filthy rags) without His grace, but it is a morality none the less born of belief, religion, none the less. All men are born equipped to have a religion, all men have the capacity to believe on Christ and absent that they will believe any number of fairly tales, and all men do, and a man’s morality, good or bad, comes from his belief system, good or bad. Did the Pharisees not have religion and plenty of it? Did it not rule their morality?

I’ve never met somebody who doesn’t acknowledge that we all have a belief system and that that belief system is their moral compass. Weird. Even the Libertarians have their NAP.
