Canadian Shooter Was Disguised As Police
BY Herschel Smith4 years, 7 months ago
Something you may have missed in the recent news about the Canadian shooting incident.
Through the morning Sunday, police updates about the active shooter investigation included warnings that Wortman was considered dangerous and may have been dressed as an RCMP officer in a lookalike RCMP vehicle.
“The fact that this individual had a uniform and a police car at his disposal certainly speaks to it not being a random act,” Leather said.
This individual was dressed in a uniform and had a vehicle that looked like it was a police vehicle. Today, cops all over America, either the tacticool type who want to wear black shirts, khaki pants and drop holsters, or the sloppy and undisciplined ones who just don’t care, make it even more difficult to determine who is a cop and who isn’t.
So to reiterate a point to cops everywhere. You understand, don’t you, why you can’t just stand at our door and yell “Police, get on the floor now,” and us believe that you are who you say you are? We can’t believe it if you’re driving a car, standing at our doorway, or crossing paths with us on the roadside.
We just can’t believe you, because it may be the last mistake we ever make.

I once stuck a pistol in the waistband of my pants and effectively open carried into the local food lion. An employee who I would typically exchange greetings with asked, “are you a detective or something?”

There’s more to this story but we’ll probably never know.

And for what it is worth, Mr. Trudeau said more assault weapons legislation is
coming soon even though it has not been released what type of weapon(s) were used in the Nova Scotia rampage. For sure there will be a ban on the sale of surplused RCMP/LEO vehicles and LEO uniforms? A sad day all around in this matter for the Canadians. best, redclay7

Problem is, the Canuck shooter wasn’t wearing slovenly tacticool gear, he had a genuine RCMP uniform and genuine RCMP vehicle.
Self-defense is almost totally forbidden in Canada — there is no CCW at all, and even in your home your firearms are required to be locked in a safe, so if you shoot a home invader you WILL be charged under the “safe storage” laws.
Even if CCW and self-defense had been legal, literally no one would have shot someone who appears to be a uniformed cop. Same is true in the U.S. — if a cop is trying to unjustifiably kill you, you pretty much have to let him.
Interestingly enough, the first “real” cop he encountered was an affirmative action RCMP girlcop, and he promptly murdered her, took her duty weapon, and used it to murder several victims.
The RCMP is being very tight-lipped about what weapons were used, but it is know that the dead gircop’s gun was one of them. It is unlikely that the killer’s initial weapon was an “assault weapon.” They would have sensationalized it if that had been the case. AKs are completely illegal in Canada. ARs are available but under strict permitting and registration are limited to 5-rd mags. All semi-auto rifles are limited to 5-rd mags and all handguns (again under very strict permitting and registration and no CCW) limited to 10.
There is going to be a shitshow because in all probability whatever weapon he used before stealing the girlcop’s gun was almost certainly licensed by the RCMP and this guy was a cop-worshipper so they probably signed off on his gun permits because of that.
Expect that Trudeau will implement a national confiscation of ALL handguns and ALL semi-auto rifles after this, just like Australia, the UK and NZ. (He was already talking about it last year before the shooting).
American politicians will be watching with interest…

Trudeau’s been wetting himself with pleasure over this shooting.
Can we invade Canada yet?

@Matt. I used to ride my Kawa Concours eveywhere. Even the local Hells Angels recognized me because I really had only one vehicle – my bike. I rode 80,000 miles in 3 years. Went into the local DMV with my cordura padded gear and hi-viz vest and the nice DMV lady said “…you an undercover cop?” I nicely said, not so undercover ay? Blank stare…

As many know, this isn’t a new phenomena. David Codrea has a “Fauxnly Ones” section over at War On Guns regarding many instances of fake Only Ones.
