Christian Reconstruction and Pete Hegseth’s Confirmation as Secretary of Defense

Herschel Smith · 26 Jan 2025 · 7 Comments

I had earlier point out that the progressives weren't giving up without a fight. Their hard-fought victory over the military establishment and the consequent loss of it, even if partial, cuts deeply. They have so weakened the edifice that it is crumbling. The department cannot meet recruitment goals, needs warfighters for the national defense and cannot find them, wastes increasingly precious dollars on failed programs, and celebrates transgenders and LGBTQ. This crumbling of the edifice meets…… [read more]

John MacArthur: “We’re Having Church!”

BY Herschel Smith
4 years, 6 months ago

I have a lot of things in common with John.  He is a reformed Baptist, and I hold completely to the Westminster Confession of Faith, so he and I differ on baptism and eschatology.  Other than that, I’ve enjoyed his sermons when I’ve heard them.  He is a decent and honorable man, and a good teacher.

He stated in an earlier video (if I’m not mistaken) that he hadn’t had any pastors in America – any pastors in America – contact him and offer support, prayers or encouragement for his stand against the state and intent to have worship services.  Ponder that.

Churches have shut down all over America based on the word of the state, while making [false] claims that the Christ is the head of their church.  Christ is indeed the head of the church, but not the head of fake churches.

American seminaries have raised several generations of weak, effeminate, Biblically illiterate hypocrites who believe that Jesus was a Bohemian hippie flower child peacenik.  What would these pretend men do in the early church?

At the time of the Roman arenas, elders would baptize new converts, with both pastor and convert knowing that as soon as the baptism was completed, they were going to be arrested and thrown to their deaths.  Today in America, pastors cannot even bring themselves to be faithful to the apostle’s command in Hebrews 10:25 when the state gets pissy. God help them if they were to have to mount horses and drive raping, murderous invaders out during the Crusades.

It’s truly a sad state of affairs.  But if nothing else, this has done a lot to pull the mask off of the fake church (pun intended).

New Portland District Attorney Admits He Is “Old Buddies” With Antifa Militant

BY Herschel Smith

The Post Millennial.

Newly-elected District Attorney Mike Schmidt, who refuses to prosecute Portland rioters, admits he is “old buddies” with an Antifa militant campaigning to defund the police, abolish prisons, and demand reparations.

The last tweet from @DAMikeSchmidt, the new DA who isn’t prosecuting Portland rioters, is a tweet promoting an interview w/his “buddy,” a militant antifa activist. His friend is part of campaign by communist Angela Davis to defund police, abolish prisons & demand reparations. pic.twitter.com/uWHpAxhJn0

“Just before I was sworn in as DA, I sat down with an old buddy of mine, @AWKWORDrap, for an interview about my priorities as District Attorney and rethinking what public safety means,” Schmidt tweeted.

The hour-long Jul. 21 interview with Schmidt is a first in the series of “social justice leaders” features conducted by a self-described “Anti-Fascist” and “old time buddy” of Schmidt’s, social media personality Awkword.

Awkword leads the Ten Demands for Justice movement, “a roadmap for the defunding and then full abolition of police and prisons.”

Actually, I have to admit here that I have something in common with Antifa.  I don’t believe in the prison system either.  But something tells me they and I don’t see eye to eye on this.

As I’ve stated before, I believe in the Biblical concept of restitution and retribution.  If someone commits a crime worthy of death, he is to be executed.  If someone steals from you, he is to become your slave until it is paid back in multiples.  So I believe in slavery because the Bible does.  God believes in property rights.  There is no such thing as a crime against society.  All crimes are against specific persons.

As to the new Portland DA, I don’t really care that much.  It’s sad, indeed, that so many Portland residents are having to either live through this or move.  But the fact is that you voted on each and every council member, the mayor, and the DA.  It says so right there in the article.  “Newly elected.”  I didn’t make that up.

So things in Portland (and Seattle for that matter) are like they are because you, the citizens of Portland (and Seattle), want them to be that way.  You’ve said so many times.  Who am I to intervene in your knowing and intentional self destruction?

Theft Of UPS Gun And Ammunition Deliveries

BY Herschel Smith

Law Enforcement Today.

WEST COLUMBIA, SC — Five UPS employees were arrested last week in connection with guns stolen from the shipping company’s hub in West Columbia, according to Lexington County deputies.

The employees, all teenagers, were charged with breach of trust, according to a press release by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office.

Byron Burke, 19, Jalen Green, 19, Dishon Kinney, 18, Kenyon Peters, 18, and Tre’von Williams, 19, are charged with breach of trust, according to arrest warrants. In addition, Kinney and Peters were also charged with criminal conspiracy.

“UPS’ security team called us in as soon as they became aware of guns being stolen from incoming trucks.”

Once deputies started investigating, they discovered a plan to steal guns from incoming packages at the UPS hub. Deputies say the five men sold the guns or gave them away on company time.

Right down the road from PSA.  So if you’ve noticed that you haven’t received shipments, or that shipments were delayed, this may be the reason why.

Dean Weingarten On Antifa Blocking Traffic In Indianapolis

BY Herschel Smith

Ammoland.

While members of the group tried to redirect traffic, a driver in a blue truck revved the engine, sending protesters scrambling to the sidewalk. One protester, who only identified himself as “Icon,” pulled a gun on the driver.

“I was scared he was going to kill me,” he said. “I stepped in front of a little girl when he revved his engine, but, yes, I absolutely drew a gun to defend myself.”

We covered this and you saw the video.

First of all, he’s lying.  He didn’t step in front to protect anyone.  Second, notice how light becomes darkness and darkness becomes light.

The driver is the perpetrator of the crime according to him.  It’s not him blocking traffic without an assembly permit, it’s some guy trying to get to work or get home.

The truth doesn’t matter to them.  Their heart is darkness.

Well, not yet.  She’s been arrested and carted off to jail.  The only thing I didn’t hear from the officer was “Just doin’ my job ma’am.”  I did hear him say he’d been patient enough after he got pissy like a little girl.

Listen to her.  “It’s a revolution … hehe.”

Yea.  Until a 5.56mm round explodes your head, little girl.  I repeat.  Hundreds of millions of guns, billions of rounds of ammunition.  It hasn’t even really started yet.  These are just the skirmishes.

Seattle Rioters To Strangers: “Give Up Your House. Give Black People Back Their Homes”

MOLON LABE, MOTHERF*CKERS: Seattle BLM protesters to strangers: ‘Give up your house. Give black people back their homes.’

Also, thanks for recruiting Trump voters. Your outreach is appreciated.

I told y’all this wasn’t about police.  It never was.  Antifa/BLM want to be the police.  They want your stuff.  All of it.  It’s a Bolshevik revolution.

Think of it and treat it as such.

The Awful People Associated With Antifa And BLM Attack A Ronald McDonald House

BY Herschel Smith
4 years, 6 months ago

This is key.  Ronald McDonald houses are where very sick children go – sometimes receiving potentially life saving chemotherapy for cancer, always sickening, sometimes painful – to be able to be with their families while being treated.  It’s a good and wonderful thing for both the children and parents.

This news comes to us from the hellhole of Chicago.

The Ronald McDonald House in Chicago was vandalized during looting early Monday morning while families and their sick children huddled inside, the charity said Tuesday.

The Ronald McDonald House in the Streeterville neighborhood of the city’s Near North Side provides support for sick children and their families while the child receives medical treatment at nearby Lurie Children’s Hospital.

The charity said more than 30 families and their sick children were sleeping inside when the looters, who had taken over downtown, ransacking stores and vandalizing properties, started attacking the building.

“[We were] very concerned there was a lot of activity right in front of the house, people making choices that could put them at risk and put our families at risk, so the staff was frightened,” Lisa Mitchell, of Ronald McDonald House Charities, told ABC 7 Chicago.

“They are already in a really, really difficult spot,” she said of the families. “Having this kind of additional stress and worry about getting to and from the hospital even though we are five blocks away because of safety concerns is just doubling the strain.”

The building was placed on lockdown during the commotion, CBS Chicago reported. Several windows on the front of the building were smashed, and the front door had to be boarded up. No damage was caused to the inside of the house and no one was injured.

The author at Legal Insurrection, Kemberlee Kaye, writes “We have such big love for the Ronald McDonald House. When Baby Walt was hospitalized, the Ronald McDonald house was there for us. They provided encouragement, kindness, and accommodations, allowing us to spend the night on the same floor as our baby. We often opted to head home as we lived close and their rooms were almost always full (we thought it better to leave rooms for out of town parents), but on nights there was availability, we stayed. It was a tremendous comfort to be able to walk down the hall and see our baby at any point in the night instead of being at home with his empty bed.

Attacking a Ronald McDonald House is truly unconscionable.”

It’s because their conscience has been seared as Paul discusses in Romans Chapter 1.  The ridiculous thing is that if the police and politicians would stand back and let the unorganized militia tackle this problem, Antifa and BLM riots would be finished within a week, never to return.

But the pols are on the side of Antifa and BLM, and the rest of America doesn’t have the stomach for what must be done.  Not yet, it doesn’t.

The people of Antifa and BLM are awful, horrible, terrible, loathsome, abhorrent, dreadful people, each and every one of them.  I’ll say the same thing to them as I do to cops who let tyranny go on under their watch because of the “thin blue line.”

If there are BLM protesters who wouldn’t do such things, that’s too bad.  They are associated with people who do, and that goes down to their shame.  God will judge them for not just the violence, but their associations as well.  These rioters should have been shot dead for potential threat to peaceable men, women, and sick children.  They are doing Lucifer’s work.  If the pols won’t let the police do it, they should take a step back and let the militia do it.  Thus the communist revolution would end.

Barrel Heat Hurts Accuracy And Velocity

BY Herschel Smith
4 years, 6 months ago

Bryan Hendricks.

I moved the target to 50 yards, removed the bolt from the receiver and eyeballed the target through the bore, which allowed me to dial in the crosshairs for a rough zero. Then I backed it up with a laser sighting device to get a little closer. The next three shots printed a .223-inch group, about 6 inches to the left of the bullseye and about 1 inch high.

I moved the target back to 100 yard yards and dialed in the scope to hit dead center and 3 inches high. Eight shots walked progressively up the paper, and I ended the session.

In that rifle, my chronograph clocks that load at a maximum of about 2,670 feet per second. However, I noticed wide variances in muzzle velocity, including a dramatic and progressive loss of velocity as the barrel warmed. Wide speed variances seemed to correspond with wide variances in shot placement.

In all of my reloading manuals, 44.5 grains of IMR-4831 is at or near maximum. I reduced the load to 43.5 grains and took it out Saturday for a short session.

The first shot from a cold barrel clocked at 2,646 fps. It hit the paper dead center and 3 inches high. That’s a dead deer shot out to 300 yards. I waited about five minutes before firing the second shot. The barrel was slightly warm, and the chrony clocked the shot at 2,619 fps. It printed the same height and slightly left. I waited another five minutes and fired the third shot. The barrel was warmer, but not hot. The chronograph clocked it at 2,599 fps. It struck near center and 2 inches high.

As the barrel warmed, velocity decreased by about 20 fps per shot.

“If I let the barrel cool back down to room temperature, I’ll bet the velocity will go back up,” I told myself. “If that happens, I bet I can put a fourth shot through the first hole.”

The barrel was cool to the touch until just past the middle, where it got noticeably warmer. That’s the pressure point, and the heat continued to the muzzle.

Finally, the barrel reached room temperature. I squeezed off a near perfect shot as far as form was concerned. The chronograph read 2,654. The bullet nearly touched the first hole. Discounting the slowpoke shot, the three shots above 2,600 fps measured .852 inch. The average muzzle velocity was 2,630.

Those four shots taught me a lot about the effect of barrel heat on accuracy and velocity. I had never considered the relationship before.

I hadn’t either.  Thanks for sharing this in such detail Bryan.  No doubt I’ll put this information to use.
