Conversation Between Clackamas County Sheriff’s Deputy And Militia

This is a very interesting conversation (via WiscoDave). We seem to be in a weird transition phase between empowered prosecutors and dystopia.

Notice, it was a good exchange, all the way around, Sheriff with Militia.
I dare anyone to say a sheriff could have that kind of exchange with AntifaBLM.
So, again, tell me how dangerous the militia is?

I heard a Sheriff placating to the people that elected him. If her were serious about needing their help he would deputize them.

Another example of why we cannot engage ABR in close. The LEO’s and courts will destroy you. They need to be engaged from a distance.
Grouping together to have a “show of force” just agitates them and gives them a target. They are not afraid of large groups.
They are afraid of things they cannot see.

Never initiate a conflict…end it, by the means necessary to stop the threat.

It sounds like he was covering his hindquarters, no doubt he has a recording of that which he will share with the local DA, just in case any of these militia people actually commits some sort of crime. The kind of law enforcement this sheriff typifies views militias in the same way that they view antifa – as a domestic terrorist threat – although they probably see antifa as less of a threat. The smartest thing for these guys to have done would have been to break away and have a meeting and come back and tell the sheriff that they were going home, and the sheriff was on his own so far as law enforcement went. And this would be because they had no legal status – they weren’t deputized, and thus had no protection from qualified immunity. And from then on out, anything and everything they did as a group would be on the QT, in fact, taking the online presence down, formally disbanding in public, and so forth would be a good idea. Now, of course, the Sheriff could deputize them, but I doubt that would happen – “you just don’t have the training” would be the excuse. And in coming years, they could slowly starve resources from their government – unless it repudiated the Public Duty Doctrine by ordinance or statute (after all, who ever dreamed of being required to pay for services in advance, and then being told that they had no legal expectation of actually getting those services…)
