Does Kurt Schlichter Finally Get It?

I know.  The post title is a bit snarky, but I think Kurt has been a long time getting to this point.

The real goal is control of the institutions that have combat power – the police, federal law enforcement, and the military. That’s where they can find people willing to kill, and maybe die, to impose the elites will. The cops, agents, and soldiers they dream of coopting to be their caste’s personal Gestapo and Wehrmacht provide the bodies who would actually do the dirty work – as Dick made clear when he said out loud what he is too smug and dumb to know he should have kept quiet, that he and the other tourist revolutionaries intend to be eager spectators to the gory unpleasantness that always accompanies a leftist revolution (“I’ll happily provide video commentary.”). Hijacking the government, and using loyalty to the country and co-opting the ingrained sense of duty in our cops and warriors as a means to manipulate them into being the enforcement mechanism for the tyranny the elite left dreams of imposing is the goal.

Remember, when someone says he wants you dead, he wants you dead. And the people who want you dead here in the USA intend to use the people you currently rely upon to keep you safe and secure as the means to do it. It’s actually quite cunning – if they can keep the cops, agents and soldiers in line. We’ve already seen lots of cops putting pensions over honor as they hassle citizens for mask crimes. The high-ranking Obama officer corps has already sold its collective soul for a handful of stars, and lots of colonels and generals would gleefully set their forces on uppity citizens – not rioters, but people like you – to please their Democrat masters. When the Biden administration orders the cops and agents, and maybe soldiers, to imprison or kill gun owners, the uniformed flinkies will be expected to spill blood if necessary, because when you send government officials with weapons to enforce a law, whether to bust a guy peddling loose Marlboros or to confiscate AR15s, you have to assume that a certain number of those encounters will end with dead citizens. And to folks like Dick, that casualty count is a feature and not a bug.

Remember those cops busting moms in parks because they don’t want to miss out on their pensions?

Yet, the notion that Americans will wake up one morning, see that they are no longer free, shrug, obediently line up to turn in their Remingtons and Mossbergs and reconcile themselves to serfdom is not in the cards.

Salary, benefits and pensions.  These are the things which are important to LEOs.  But there is no honor in the America-first philosophy or patriotic jingoism when tyranny is afoot (like arresting good men and women who bring out guns for self defense when rioters threaten their lives, livelihoods and businesses).  No, I will never forget that they have done these things, and neither should you, nor that these good men and women have to hide themselves to keep from being arrested when the police let the rioters run amok.  Some breaks are irreparable and final.  The fact that the prosecutors sent them out to do these things means precisely nothing to me.  Death doesn’t mean your body cooling to ambient temperature and then the end.  There is more after that – much, much more.  And one to whom we will all answer.

If anyone recalls when Kurt has been so clear as he is here, let me know.  But he seems to have embraced that the good folks wearing uniforms may not be so good after all if and when they violate your basic God-given rights.

It’s good to see Kurt calling out the awful class of flag officers in the military, and those who have recently retired, like Generals Petraeus (an adulterer and gun controller) and McChrystal (a gun controller and murderer for his role in ROE and the deaths of the men at Ganjgal).

    Reluctance to vocalize what the future brings is really just hesitating to accept the eventual things to come.

    He sounds like a good man who like many of us hate seeing what’s happening and don’t want to fully accept that the corpse on the floor is a Norman Rockwell painting. That “America” can only return by force of will by the people.

Then they will make you puke up all that stuff the NRA and the conservatives have been saying for years about being “law-abiding.” When they pass a national gun ban, they will tell you that “it’s the law” and you need to turn those assault weapons over to the “heroes.” For your “safety” — just like wearing a mask.

    And you will — just like all the British tough guys did, just like all the Australian tough guys did, and the Canadian tough guys did.

    Soon, we are heading to a stage wherein if you want to be ‘free,” you must accept that you will be a criminal, and the institutions of power are going to try to throw you into a cage fore it.

    The left needs an army. They have been hard at work to attain that goal via these four main channels for years now. They are working multiple levels within these four domains very hard.

    Man the Right in America are stupid. They have no idea what is coming. I almost feel bad for the suburban moms out there. And even the people on the Right who consider themselves informed on this don’t know the half of what the Left are going to do to them.

    Maybe Mr. Schlichter finally does finally get it. We were talking about these four domains back when Strickland got arrested in Portland, if you will recall.

    Apparently, getting folks off the couch was a problem in those days as well. Fence-sitters are a fact of life, it seems, no matter where one is or what epoch one calls home.

    And those words bring to mind British Prime Minister Winston S. Churchill, who knew more than most about standing up to oppose tyranny when it was costly and unpopular to do so in the 1930s.

    “If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed;
    if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may
    come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.”

    Let’s give Churchill the last word, for his wisdom may have bearing on our present situation. The great man was half-American (through his mother), so he would have known.

    “You can always count on Americans to do the right thing – after they’ve tried everything else.”

    The real question is this: Are there still enough of that kind of American left to save the republic? TBD, folks, To be determined….

    It isn’t that clear-cut, friend. And pithy sayings – “Totally saved Stalin” – aren’t fact just because they sound good.

    Socialist Randolph Bourne was being uncharacteristically candid for a leftist when he lifted the curtain on how socialists operate by saying, “War is the health of the state.” But he was correct: War is one of the favorite means of politicians of all strips for expanding the size/scope of government.

    You blame Churchill for the leviathan of the British government, but that criticism isn’t entirely fair, since Whitehall was already growing by leaps and bounds when Churchill was still a young and inexperienced parliamentarian fresh out of his majesty’s cavalry. Britain was a world power with a globe-spanning empire in 1900, one which wasn’t going to be administered out of a shoebox.

    Moreover, men of his generation, regardless of their political leanings, were taught and were a part of the world view that saw the managerial state as a positive good with potential for improving people’s lives. As myopic as that view now appears, few if any men of that time had the foresight to see what the West would become in a century’s time. How could they? None of them possessed a crystal ball.

    The Great War beget the Second World War so your bile and vituperation ought not to fall upon Churchill alone, but all who caused that conflict to happen. And it was a calamity which had multiple authors.

    No one individual is responsible for the lamentable state of present-day Britain, vis-a-vis their now lost civil rights. Even if Churchill was half the villain you seem to believe him to be,not even he was that powerful.

    Churchill was shown the door before the ink had dried on the surrender documents ending the war in Europe. The man had precious little to do with running postwar Britain; the British public thanked him for his wartime leadership by throwing him out of 10 Downing Street in favor of Clement Atlee, a “modest man with much to be modest about.” Now there was a real socialist!

    For goodness sakes, man, at least get the basic facts straight. Stalin wasn’t “saved” by Churchill. If that “honor” belongs to anyone, it ought to be given to Uncle Joe’s good friend Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Who was a legitimate socialist, you’ll get no argument here on that score. Churchill mistrusted Stalin more and more as the war progressed, but FDR and the Soviet premier increasingly conducted business in his absence, left him out of key conferences, excluded him from direct U.S.-USSR negotiations.

    Churchill was an ardent anti-communist who only soften his message somewhat during the war since the USSR was fighting the same enemy as we were at the time. His famous speech at Fulton, Missouri, in March 1946, coined the term “Iron Curtain,” which thereafter entered the lexicon.

    FDR. Yes, this. My professor C. Gregg Singer used to lament how FDR fawned over Stalin in the meetings the three of them had, and how FDR gave away East Germany to Stalin because he admired him so much. Patton was prohibited from finishing the job through Germany.
