Streamlight TLR RM 2 Tactical Light Review
BY Herschel Smith3 years, 12 months ago
I have two general comments on this video. First, I think Ammoland needs to work on its videographic skills. The person doing the video is halting, seemingly unprepared for the video, and doesn’t do a full blown review of all of the features, modes, strengths and weaknesses.
Second, I think it’s important to highlight new products like this one because (in my opinion) Surefire is the 900 pound gorilla in the room and charges way too much for its products. I think they need some good competition, and this light seems like it. I want one.
And by the way, Amazon has it for sale at a decent price point.

A review of a light should possibly, just going out on a limb here, have it shown…..doing its job. In the dark. Not at noon. Unless it is being employed solely as a tape switch clicky noise maker.

@C,
I (and you) could have given them some suggestions, including evaluating the throw, etc., as well as the ease of operation under duress.
What’s wrong with getting a light meter and measuring the claims of the manufacturer?
They didn’t call me.

Mr. Guns and Gear has a recent review for the RM1 and RM2. They look like solid choices.

Midway seems to have the same product at a lower price:

Bonus: It’s not Amazon.

Streamlight are fine kit, generally. And owners have been outfitting themselves with 3 of them for the cost of 1 Surefire. Depending upon the halo, beam preferences, or weight (many hate nose-heavy guns) their Pro-Tac RL-2 or the 1000-Lumen HLX can be had for less than even this Streamlight model. I’m a fan of the RL-2 on an AR. Can be had standalone or with rail-mount, tailcap & switch, etc. Either uses 123’s or an 18650 rechargeable.

like anything, you get what you pay for…Surefire is cream of the crop and their warranty is outstanding…recently had my X200 break (light is from 2004) and they sent me the latest gen X300 for nothing (1000 lumen compared to my 500/600 lumen X300)…i paid $189 for that X200 and paid $269 for my X300…so it was worth it…still have some of the old bulb style Surefire G2’s that they will still replace the tail caps for…not really a fan of the Streamlights…they tend to break…often…they do have a pretty good lifetime warranty though…Inforce makes really good lights, i’ve hands on with the long gun light and it’s not too bad, i own 2 of the handhelds…great light for the price…Olights aren’t too bad either…even being chineese…they have a long gun light and the valkyrie pistol light is one bright ass light at 1200 lumens…overkill indoors…
