Used a 350 legends out of a blind. I was behind some light brush to aid in hiding the blind. Shot the buck with a point of aim in the lung heart area. Bullet must have hit a branch and the bullet deflected enough I took out both of his rear legs. Once I got out of the blind the kill shot went to point of aim. I would say 350 deflects a lot.
Next year if I use that gun again I will be sure to have clear shooting avenues.

When in the Army I remember a demonstration of the M16 A1 with its 1 in 12 twist
using issue rounds loaded with 55 grain bullets at about 3240 fps.
A large paper target that was over 2 ft. square was set on a frame and a few layers
of cheesecloth were stretched on another frame at a 45° angle about 10 ft. in front of
the target. A sergeant then stood several feet back from the cheesecloth and fired a
few rounds slowly on semi-auto at its center.
None of the bullets hit the paper.
That bullet and twist was famed for its destruction of tissue due to its instability
causing it to tumble when going through a body but it was obviously not a “brush gun”
cartridge in any way imaginable yet our military used them in jungle warfare.
Just some food for thought about twist, weight and velocity.
