Via Wirecutter, darkness is coming fast.
A 28 page document sent as a proposal to the Biden transition team by Secular Democrats of America, and endorsed by at least 14 Democrat House of Representatives members that suggests laws and rules be made to force conservative Christians into silence based on their religious beliefs, remove ‘In God We Trust’ from U.S. currency, rescind President Trump’s protections of religious liberties, Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), and much, much more.

They want churches to be shut down due to Covid, they’re targeting home schooling, and they want the FedGov to treat you as a “white supremacist” if you’re conservative and Christian.
Christians were (falsely) taught from a very young age not to fight. “No, no, Timmy, Christians don’t fight. If bully-boy wants to beat you up, you must stand and take it, it’s what Jesus would want.”
Today, Christians engage virtually nothing, looking to the sky and waiting for Extract/Exfil as things go bad. The only times in history when Christians learned to fight was the two Crusades, defensive struggles against Mohammedanism. Those fights saved Europe.
Expect hard times to come this way. And expect your fellow Christians to continue to look for extraction / exfil. As this becomes the long war, eventually you will be needed to teach your fellow Christians to fight back.

It’s catching on pretty quick. One benefit of the covid crap is schools were put on the spotlight and how they’re pretty awful educators, and lots of parents took notice.

My understanding of “turn the other cheek” is that, in NT times, for someone to strike you backhanded (e.g. back of his right hand to your right cheek) was an insult and he was asserting that he was superior to you. Turn the other cheek means “if you are going to strike me, strike me forehanded with your palm as you would an equal.” Still doesn’t mean that you are “rolling over and showing your belly”.

Example: It’s proper to deny any federal funds to private schools unless they meet all federal “inclusivity” requirements. (At the same time, of course, it’s alright for a city to take federal dollars but not hand over serial-felon illegals – they don’t & won’t have a conflict with that.)
It is unlikely that it will come as a shock to say they lie in setting forth their precepts. “In God We Trust” is not, as they say, an offensive relic from the McCarthyesque 50’s. However, like communists & scorpions, it’s what they do.

I blab a lot on TCJ about stuff, but these things I do have first hand, field experience with:
Christian prep is in order. I’ve been saying for years that you need extra bibles, other materials of essential Christian teachings. You need extras, hard copies. a case of King James holy bibles can be had for fairly cheap. You need a case of bibles before they are outlawed. You need to plan to become the church, just as it was in Acts, and now is China and much of the middle east.
Also, when things get ugly; people look for answers. You need to learn how to present a clear case for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and how to lead a lost soul into the Kingdom of God. Less than 3 percent of professed Christians have ever led a soul to the fullness of the realization of Christ Jesus on the cross that they might be saved from wrath and death and hell. Everybody you see is going to hell and will burn forever. It ain’t hard to find them!!!
You are not as smart as the Holy Spirit of God. It’s ok, to need instruction, and to seek it. You will be richly rewarded beyond your current understanding of the workings of Holy God when you purposefully, systematically set about to reach the lost.
It is Jesus Christ that saves a lost sinner. It is the Holy Spirit of God that convicts the lost sinner. And, it is the Christian that shares the Word of God and specifically the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the three fold operation of salvation under Father God.

Christians want all the accoutrements of a Christian society but won’t do the work!!!

I lament often about the state of the American Church. The bottom line is they have no answers because they don’t how to open their Holy Bible and show the weak and infant and lost God’s Holy Word. Get to work.

God never intended for His people to doormats for others; even a cursory reading of the Old Testament, would tell us that. Sadly, though many Christians are told to ignore most of the OT as irrelevant, there is enough evidence in the New Testament that Christians are not only permitted but commanded to defend themselves and their families (and I would argue the innocent as well) as long as they use good judgement, and wisdom – which God will give if we ask (James 1:5. Ephesians 5:17).
In addition to sword passage in Luke which is a clear justification for self-defense, here are a few scriptures which indirectly apply:
Luke 11:21 – “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace.”
1 Timothy 5:8 – “But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.” (how can one provide for his own, without protecting them?)
1 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
Ephesians 5: 25, 28-29 – “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her… so husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself… For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it…” (one cannot love his wife without protecting her from harm)
Those who cite Jesus’ rebuke of Peter for drawing his sword during Jesus’ arrest as a prohibition against the use of force, overlook the context- Jesus was saying that it was not yet time to fight, because Hs mission was not yet complete.
