I’m Glad I’m Not There

Via WiscoDave. I don’t have a category for safety, so I’ll file this one under Army.
Dear NGUS personnel in Washington DC:
That piece of webbing on the front of the rifle running to the back is called a SLING.
It's so that you can carry the rifle, hands free, with the barrel oriented in a safe direction.

Herschel, sorry but I have to ask this question. Did the NG leave the magazines back at the armory? LOL

When Trump was inaugurated, he wanted a military parade through D.C. – the shitbags at the Pentagon said “Impossible! It’ll tear up the streets! Logistics are a nightmare!!” – now they’ve got enough for a damn parade……..

Nah, not a parade; it sounds better in the original Latin: “triumphus”

Someone (forget who) had done a nice ‘order of battle’ list of the units a day ago or so and it tripped some memory cells. Having been part of a multi-discipline team in a former life that assessed NG units for deployment I can say that several of those units slated for an OEF/OIF rotation were simply sent back home from the mob-station. “Ate up” from leadership on down is the technical term (veterans will be familiar with that term). It was a pervasive attitude, not just a few incompetent leaders. Some of us, rightly or wrongly, judged it as an idiosyncracy of their environment.
I hope they’re not issued live ammo because I’d want at least 1 major terrain feature between them & anyone I cared about.

The DC NG is emblematic of what communist troops look like, much like the Red Army in 1941 and 1942. Rotten to the core for a military mission not harnessed to SJW ambition. It is one thing to have the kit but the ability to effectively “drive” the kit in unified operations, there’s the rub.
The US mil community has one distinct advantage over any home grown martial resistance in the US and it is not weapons nor use thereof but secure and drilled communications vertically and horizontally. Once parity in that is reached by opposing military forces on US soil, game on.
As Herschel’s son can attest, what makes American infantry officers deadly is their radio and concomitant comms mastery and support. Is it imperative the commissioned leader be a master at arms in small arms? Certainly but his radio or headset makes the difference in achieving mission success.

Every photo and video I’ve seen shows no mags inserted.
Guessing no arming orders and no ammo issued.
Plus this: @RepCohen on his concerns w/ the National Guard securing the Inauguration: “The [National] Guard is 90 some-odd percent male; and only about 20 percent of white males voted for Biden … there are probably not more than 25% of the people there protecting us that voted for Biden”
