Wheel Gun Series #1

With his focus on level guns and now revolvers, I like the direction Chris Costa is headed with his videos. This is full service analysis, not just MSRs.
But then, I’m pretty old school and see 1911s, revolvers and open carry as dignified and gentlemanly.

Less ammo capacity, single action, and slow reloads tells me you made every shot count back in the 1800s.

Or even now. Like some have said. Slow is fast. I do not plan on gun fighting a whole gang.. just one misguided soul.

As a Southpaw, I can attest that most wheel guns are way more lefty friendly than semi-autos. At gun shows and gun store counters, I can easily rule out 90% of their inventory that I won’t buy simply because there’s no ambidextrous safety.
Another bonus is that revolvers are not nearly as picky about ammo as semi-autos. No worries about bullet profile not feeding smoothly, or light and heavy loads in one magazine causing a misfeed. Plus the empties are nicely controlled so that you’re not scrounging through grass looking for cases to reload. I’d much rather reload .357’s than 9 mm’s.
And while it’s apparently gospel that revolvers are inherently more reliable that autos, don’t let that go to your head. Revolvers can malfunction too. I’ve had hammer springs snap, cylinder pin come loose, etc. It can happen. After my Dad passed, I cleaned out his truck and found an old Ruger Security Six. Took it to the range and the gun was so gummed up and dirty the cylinder would barely rotate. So you have to take care of them.
Just my thoughts after years of shooting. Now if only S&W would get rid of that lawyer hole on their revolvers, I might buy another.
