The Engineering Of Shooting Ranges
BY Herschel Smith
I found this video very interesting, and he’s only discussing the engineering of outdoor shooting ranges. Inside it becomes even more complicated with sound-absorbing materials, ventilation, filtration of hazardous materials in exhaust air (lead, copper, etc.).

A friend of mine opened a gun shop with an attached 6 lane range. I was in there one Friday after work when the insulation or soundproofing caught fire, perhaps creosote ignited by a spark. We were out the door in 30 seconds, total loss by the time the fire company showed up. His construction was solid, but I don’t think the engineering was up to par.
