From the perspective of the “flare gun’s product manager” and the manufacturer’s lawyers why would they identify it as “12gauge” ? … And, why wouldn’t they ensure the “wad” would fly out the barrel, i.e., it can’t be made “idiot proof” but the barrel should be flared from breech to muzzle for safety ?
Perhaps boaters would find it better than nothing, but if Smoky were still on the job bet he’d have some words of caution.
