Smart Gunz

Tom Holland, president of SmartGunz, LLC, today announced pre-sales ordering availability of the company’s 9mm smart gun Sentry® pistol. An initial 10% discounted retail price is being offered for law enforcement and corrections agencies at $2,695.00 (single item purchase, additional quantity discounts provided) while the regular (civilian) retail price is $2,995.00 per unit. Product deliveries are anticipated to begin sometime during 4th quarter 2021. The 9mm Sentry® pistol is the company’s flagship smart gun technology firearm for use in prisoner transfer / transport as well as civilian home defense applications.
The 9 mm Sentry® features SmartGunz’s patent pending lock-out technology that is integrated with an RFID chip contained in a glove worn by the officer / owner. The officer must depress the grip safety on the firearm while wearing an RFID-enabled glove to permit firing. This helps to ensure that each SmartGunz Sentry firearm fires each and every time when it is supposed to AND ONLY when it is supposed to!
“Honey, tell the rapist and murderer to wait. I need to get my glove on before I have a gun fight with him! What? Yea I know it stinks to high heaven – I haven’t washed the thing. Oh wait! I left it in the car. Or not. I don’t know where it is.”
Hahahahahaha!
Hahahahahaha!
These guys kill me. For the same price you would spend on a boutique competition gun, you can be unable to respond in the middle of the night.
Hahahahahaha!

Naturally the owner of such a firearm, at the moment he/she needs it most, will have a failure of technology. And the firearm will be a useless paperweight.
Never mind whatever technological invention that comes out, there is someone working to counter it….

Well if you hit the attacker with a “useless paperweight”, there is a chance you might injure him and end up being sued or arrested for assault!!!

I remember see this same tech and better back in the 90s. So in other words no improvement in 20+ years, whoop de doo. Hard pass on multiple levels.

The old magic ring worn to allow the operation of a revolver, as pushed by Mossad Ayoob more than thirty years ago, was a smarter idea than this. And it wasn’t very smart to begin with all that time ago.

QUESTION: What do they call owners of ‘Smart Guns’?

Maybe this technology is a good choice for the blue-badged with careless, itchy trigger fingers?

My EDC cost 600 and nobody has ever shot it that I didn’t approve. Smart guns are a solution in search of a problem that doesn’t exist.

I encourage the government to mandate all purchases from this point forward for its vast army of statist badged kulak-knockers be issued these firearms and phase out all non-smart guns in Federal goon paws.
If the state, county and municipal coproach infestations mimic the move, all the better.
That is all…

Fred, you miss the point of this crap. It’s not for safety or keeping someone from using your personal gun. It’s to suppress the majority of guns that don’t have stupid gimmicks. Look at Cali laws. Change firing pin marks for this. Outlaw all guns that don’t have this. Who can afford a $2,600 EDC. Who can go around wearing a glove that yells out “I’m carrying one of those new stupid guns!”. This is only about getting rid of most guns.

If you know the general frequency the RFID technology uses, you can block it with a pocket sized transmitter. Good for 30 foot distance. Just modify a GPS/ cell phone signal blocking device. You can buy them online. A criminal could then just walk up to a Fed or cop, draw his ” old tech” firearm and shoot them without being in danger himself. Stupid tech for stupid people.

Of course, some cops will lose their gloves, so the next step will be to implant the chip.

In the late ’80s there was one that used a magnetic ring you wore on a finger, with sensors built into the gun. Since most right-handers are helpless if that arm or hand is damaged, I guess one ring was plenty.

They’re targeting the police market… except only the most Woke departments are going to look. Maybe nobody is bombing the police market like Glock used to, but a PD can buy brand-new carry guns at $250-ish, or less if their purchasing people are good. Gonna take a lot of Woke to push a 10x-higher-per-unit price past the bean counters.
And the first time an interlock fails – because they all default to fail-to-safe, and they *will* fail – the police unions will be screeching like monkeys, and the city and/or department insurance carriers will be asking Pointed Questions.

That is a feature, not a bug. It is by design and the intent. Ever see that YT skit where this couple in CA is experiencing a home invasion and they have to call 911 to request access to their firearm, which is eventually granted after much arguing and when it was too late because they were already dead?
