With most common CF rifle cartridges, in the absence of better ballistic data, you can ball-park holdover (in Mils) by subtracting 2 (two) from the range to the target in hundred of yards. That is, on a 400-yard target, holdover is in the neighborhood of 2 Mils. 700 yards to target, holdover is 5 Mils. It won’t be exact but it should be close enough to give you a POI you can fine tune from.
