Point VII is something that American Christians are not well taught. Turning the other cheek is not total submission to human evil or groveling. It is a feign, a technique to further expose the the workers of inequity in their wicked schemes. It sets the Christian as giving the benefit of the doubt that the wicked are merely in error and will repent. The second offense therefore, is to the total condemnation of the unjust. I wish someone had taught me this soon after my conversation to Christ. So many things are so poorly taught or not taught at all. Failing to teach new converts is a violation of Jesus’ commandments in the great commission…And the church dies slowly.
Point VIII, in addition to the verse from Hosea, I would point out the qualifications for that authority to rule in exodus 18:21-22. This point is critical. Just because someone or a group claims authority doesn’t grant them any authority whatsoever. Those who usurp a throne are no better than the thief or rapist entering your house and claiming authority over your goods or your wife’s virtue.
Point XII shouldn’t even be necessary to make, but here we are, sadly.
Point XIII is the kind of thing makes me want to fly off the handle at weak illiterate “Christians.” That it even has to be said is truly lamentable. Holy Father God GAVE his only begotten son. Jesus in the garden told peter (for the final time) that He must fullfil the Scriptures, allowing Himself to be arrested. Jesus GAVE himself a sacrifice once for all!!! Jesus GAVE up the ghost commending His own spirit to the care of the Father. Jesus was crucified before the foundation of world. Otherwise their is no propitiation and no salvation. God help them to hear!
XIV, obedience to unjust authority IS sin. Romans 13, 1 Pete 2
XV, I would offer Genesis 9:1-17. This is God’s covenant to all living things. It is STILL in effect. The law given to the Hebrews and completed in Christ never rescinded but yay, confirmed this covenant. The gentiles and now all men again on this side of the cross are under this covenant. This is one of least understood facts of bible law today. The noahic covenant IS law. Follow it to your blessings and ignore it to your own curses you bring upon yourselves. This covenant established property, life, familiar authority, dominion, and much more. The very concept of just defense of self and family is established (again) after the flood. The idea of civil defense through retribution is also established. There’s more but that’s another topic.
XVI, being fruitful and multiplying is solely a familial enterprise, this includes the man, head of the woman and family, as sole authority over the health and wellbeing of those God has blessed him to be charge over. Gen 1:22 and Gen 9:1. (I might add education while we’re at it!!!)
XVII and XIII, the levitical priesthood has been abolished in Christ. However the notion of the church helping in times of (REAL) pestilence is a good work not commanded against. There is no civil authority over the ill. That is the authority of the man, again. Gen 1, 9, several Pauline writings.
XIX, again Genesis 9. The writers should study this covenant like their lives depend upon it, because they do.
XX, XXI, dominion is established with man, not government. This includes property and movement (travel) duties to Holy God from which our rights are established and then flow, the man as head!!! Gen 1, 9.You know what’s funny? (not ha ha funny but God’s sense of judgement funny. Funny is clearly the wrong word. But,) “They” are setting themselves up as the new high priests in a mock levitical type priesthood over what and who is “clean” and therefore worthy. Know this like you know your own name,: evil is always always always a fraud of Holy God. Want to know e judgement looks like, covid protocols, that’s what. It’ll get worse. Real, ugly, children starving and dying and war and plagues are coming. I’m no prophet, but if the bible is true, judgement is enroute.
XXVIII and XXXI, love your neighbor as yourself, is also tragically untaught and miss taught. The consequences to the church and society are becoming devastating. Loving your neighbor is not giving them a free pass based on their perceived immediate emotional need. It’s telling the full, ugly and unvarnished truth regardless of how it makes them feel. How was Jesus a friend to sinners, he told them they were hellbound, under judgement of eternal fire for their sin. There is no greater kindness than to tell a lost sinner that ARE a sinner and in need of salvation. That’s love of your neighbor.
XXX, the weaker brother command is about SIN. Not personal health. Although telling someone they are unhealthy is a neighborly thing. The government’s time and our money would be better spent on ,”public health” by fat shaming.
