The internet calls the words of Christ in Matthew 26:52 a mere proverb, but they deny Christ, can’t hear His word, and therefore are blinded to truth. Believers know better. I have gone back and fourth a little as to whether the guard of the Pharisees led by Iscariot into the garden were roman or the Pharisees own internal police. Perhaps the latter, it would make the prophesy of Jesus more readily understood when fulfilled in Revelation 13:10.
“Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.” Matthew 26:52
And so it comes to pass:
“He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.” Revelation 13:10
Washington has lived by the sword for a long time now. Just about everyone on the planet is tired of it including its own veterans.
Matthew 26:52 is not a general rebuke against weapons or their use, but yet the seeming thousandth rebuke against the Jerusalem ruling class. And as application to us today against making unjust war as they were then making on Christ and went about to embark on a campaign of eradication against the first century converts to the way.
The blood of every veteran suicide is on its head. Washington will get what’s coming. Count on it.
