Over The Shoulder Shotgun Technique

I haven’t tried it, but I don’t think I very much like it. It seems to me that if you intend actually to use it, you’d better practice it a lot.

It might have some utility if you are in a CQB situation and get knocked down during the fight. It also looks to me like it may be of more use with a pistol grip shotgun, maybe.

Used it all the time in early 90s (SWAT).
Taught a young female how to use both – she preferred over-the-shoulder, and would “ride the recoil”. She was faster and could send more rounds this way versus traditional “in the pocket.” Age 12, with a 12-gauge.

I don’t like to get blood all over my shotgun. I especially don’t like it when that blood is from my own nose. I’ll stick with using a recoil pad as it was intended.
