Happy Thanksgiving 2021!

I am thankful for work, for family, and for too many things to catalog.
Most of all I am thankful that my Heavenly Father loved me enough to give His only begotten Son for my sake.

The prayer (in part) of Jeremiah the prophet of God in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar, when Jeremiah the prophet was in prison for telling the truth. The evidence of that truth had just appeared in the form of the armies of the Babylonian Empire surrounding Jerusalem. And did Jeremiah whine and complain? No, he declared in prayer the revelation of God’s great power as the Lord Hosts in sure and mighty judgments, and in His loving merciful grace, and His instruction in righteousness.
Every day that God would forstall the wrath that we deserve by extending His loving kindness is a day to be thankful for. Every day Holy God would instruct you in righteousness is a good day to be full of Thanksgiving. And even so, on the day of His wrath, it is good day, for thankfully He sees your sin and cares enough that you be rebuked lest you live in error or take refuge in a lie.
Surely His wrath is coming. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Yes, it’s a good day to thank God.
