I ruined my barrel with a bronze brush!!!

He makes his point well enough. Bronze is softer than steel (although I suspect he’s using a brass brush).

Kind of a straw man. Of course you can’t damage a steel bore with a bronze or brass brush.
People damage bores by screwing the bronze or brass brush onto a segmented steel cleaning rod…

What about chrome lined barrels?

Soldiers and Marines have used standard bronze brushes and rods to clean their weapons for decades and it’s never resulted in bore damage issues, as they qualify as marksmen. Yes, barrels are replaced, but only because they’ve reached their max amount of rounds fired to render the barrel defunct. Brush and rod used is a non issue.

I had an acquaintance years ago remove all the rifling in a stainless steel Ruger Redhawk with bronze brushes on a drill. Maybe Rugers just have crappy barrels but I have seen it with my own two eyes.
Believe whatever you want.
