Brief Review Of Bear Creek Arsenal .22 WMR Upper

One has been seen in the wild. Despite my predictions of poor performance and rim-locking, it seems to be well-functioning.
Might have to look into one of these given the good price point.

Herschel: You’re right vis-a-vis the price point for the weapon itself but the biggest issue facing having a toy like that is the feeding… the ‘food’ for it .22WMR is running, at it’s cheapest on Ammoseek .33 cents a round. That’s ballpark .223 range in price point.
Granted, if we were in the days of wine and roses (.10 cent 5.56mm) I’d have no issue buying this as a fun-gun. But nowadays? Sheesh.

Looks like the chamber pressure is really high when it’s ejecting. I wouldn’t want to shoot this from the port side.

Beats the heck out of buying another 22 WMR! I own several, love the caliber, really like this idea. Thanks Herschel

Are these available as complete rifles?

What most people miss is the future. As we age it gets harder to shoot higher power weapons. Most people do not realize they will change while aging. This is a great idea for older debilitated folk. While I would prefer a AR-10 chambered in 243 or 260 Rem. I cannot handle the recoil. For now 5.56/223 are just fine, perfect for a soft shooting AR-15. But just like shooting pistols got hard (Carried a 357, then 40, then 9mm now a 380), time will change the AR shooting. A .22 WMR at 1800-2000fpm is nothing to sneeze at. Gave away all my shottys. I would love a Ruger 10/22 in WMR but this would do nicely IF it works well.
