Conservative Sympathy for Russia in Ukraine War an Exercise in Cognitive Dissonance
BY Herschel Smith2 years, 8 months ago
David Codrea writing at Firearms News.
That includes from the “right” as well as the “left,” and what that’s doing is diverting attention away from the one now-undeniable truth that destroys the “gun control” narrative: An armed populace is essential to a nation’s security. Citizen disarmament works to the advantage of a nation’s enemies.
So, instead of relentlessly hammering that point to where it cannot be ignored by that part of the electorate still receptive to reason, some “conservatives” are dividing into camps and descending into squabbles, with no small amount of name-calling, accusations, and vitriol.
[ … ]
Ehrlich interviewed Lira on YouTube and accepted his assertions unquestioningly when he condemned the arming of citizens and attributed the motive to the “Zelenskyy regime” wanting the Russians to commit “atrocities” (he never seems to say “Putin regime”). “This is clear,” he asserts as Ehrlich nods in agreement, “You don’t hand out weapons to civilians unless you want them to get killed.”
” … are dividing into camps and descending into squabbles.” Dumb self-inflicted wounds. Sometimes trying to talk to the patriot community is like trying to herd cats. It’s an “us four and no more” mentality, with the four having to agree on literally everything if the peace is to be kept.
As for “You don’t hand out weapons …, I stopped right there. I hate the controllers. All of them.
Make sure to read David’s insightful piece this weekend.

Related – This Corbett report is long (1hr) but reveals some interesting facts about Putin: https://odysee.com/ep416-putin:cbc5d749e7f264a3f6c2125d49a9df43e17db006
Concerning Gonzalo Lira (aka CRP), I’ve heard (and since verified easily enough) that late last year he made a post online encouraging Americans to engage in acts of sabotage, film it (i.e. bring their pocket tracking device along), and send video of it to him, something that could lead to exactly the government atrocities over here that he accuses Zelensky of trying to provoke, and/or give him leverage to use for blackmail.

Putin saying that invading Ukrain becuase of fags was the realization point for me that something is wrong. While I don’t disagree with Mr. Putin’s stated (that’s STATED) positions on “social issues” I’m reminded of the US Rebublican Party. For decades they told us that we must shut the border. That are families were at risk from creaping “social issues.” That God, Guns, Country were their only concern and that they were fighting for us.
Yeah, it all turned out to be an effort in stringing us along while they squeeze every ounce of wealth from us that they can all while accumulating more power to the center. Reagan said the same things Putin says. Reagan opened the border for cheap labor and so too, Russia is fighting over energy. It’s all about money and power, always! What they say matters not one whit.
The wicked in government promosing to solve sin is the dumbest sales pitch I’ve ever heard, yet millions of so called Christians in America and eslwhere fall for it every time.

Well… I have a lot more respect for the Russians than anyone else involved in this debacle. Ultimately “we” made this happen with the 2014 coup and our current jackass SecState talking up Ukrainian NATO membership.
I am certainly in favor of civilian gun ownership but against government handouts, so mixed feelings there. If the current clown government of the Ukraine survives, they’ll probably want them back.
As for encouraging untrained civilians with their un-zeroed new AK’s to attack Russian combat formations – I truly hope they aren’t doing that.

“Ukraine, despite the appearance, is not a democracy, it’s ruled by oligarchs and their lackeys. Russia is not a democracy, either, it’s an autocratic dictatorship, with Putin at the top and a set of oligarchs and their enforcers. Both are essentially countries run by criminal gangs, whose aim is to enrich themselves at the expense of the people who live in their countries, who they have disarmed (remember that bit towards the beginning of the war about the Ukrainian government handing out guns to their people?), and whom they rob blind. Both countries deal severely with their political oppositions, not hesitating to kill or ruin them, both are police states, both are ruled by force, with the FSB in Russia, and the Azov Front and Pravyy Sektor, both notorious neo-Nazi militias (with arms, APCs, and tanks supplied by the government) in Ukraine. The common people get the short end of the stick, and in both, their freedoms are more and more restricted – in Russia this has been pushed to an extreme, with people held without trial for over a year, with inordinately long prison sentences for daring to take part in demonstrations which oppose the government, and in which broad swathes of civil society have been driven out of the country and out of sight – including independent media, journalists, and civil rights groups. In the former countries of the Warsaw Pact, the Eastern Bloc, they were able to avoid this turn of events, by getting rid of the nomenklatura, the apparatchiki, the bureaucrats which ran the state enterprises of the former Communist regimes. It’s that corrupt nomenklatura – and their descendants – who have become the oligarchs of both Russia and Ukraine. And we have the beginnings of the same situation here in the US and the countries which are part of the WEF, except that the people in the US are, so far, armed. There is of course legislation signed into law by our dubiously elected head of government to seize the arms from the people – and if that’s allowed to stand without opposition – then the US will wind up in a similar situation.
Is it in the interests of the American people, who are being robbed blind by a set of lawless oligarchs, to have their tax dollars spent to defend another set of lawless oligarchs who rob their people blind, against a lawless autocrat and his group of oligarchs who are worse robbers and despoilers of liberties? Probably not. The best result would be to get rid of the oligarchs in all of these places, and the governments which enforce their will, and rob and despoil the people, and deprive them of the free exercise of their essential liberties.” https://streamfortyseven.substack.com/p/a-good-summary-of-the-ukraine-situation

From the Codrea piece – “Ukraine is the only country outside of Israel to have a Jewish president and a Jewish Prime Minister serving at the same time. There are Jewish leaders in Azov battalion.”
Not only that, but this: ”Enter Burisma, the natural gas conglomerate, headed by Ihor Kolomoisky — a citizen of Ukraine, Cyprus (the money-laundering capital of Europe), Austria and Israel. Known for business practices that would bring to mind Al Capone, he took over Ukrainian gas companies, funded politicians and was the poster boy of corruption in a country ranked by the World Economic Forum as one of the most corrupt on the planet.
Burisma became the funding conduit as Azov [Front]’s weaponry went from clubs and chains to trucks and heavy machine guns, to artillery and tanks. On their website they would portray their new wealth as contributions from grateful citizens. As they formed they were moved east to start killing rebelling Ukrainians.
It was at this time, in May of 2014, that Hunter Biden was put on the board of Burisma, as was Devon Archer, a financial adviser to then-Secretary of State John Kerry. Thereafter the largesse to Azov increased. So conspicuous was their growth that Congressman John Conyers initiated a bill to ban CIA funding of nazis in the Ukraine, which passed unanimously. The Azov website was taken down. Months later the administration reached out to Congressional Republican leadership and got the Conyers bill repealed.”
So we have a Jewish oligarch funding a neo-Nazi group. If you’re unsure about the neo-Nazi part, see this: https://www.idahotribune.org/news/cda-press-runs-pro-nazi-letters-to-ukrainian-resistance-fighters-seen-waving-swastika-flags-other-neo-nazi-symbology

The United States of America is probably the most degenerate, evil country on planet earth, and is controlled by a Billionaire pedo-jewish Oligarchy.
Russia is a despicable tyranny interested only in its power and wealth, and is also a very evil nation, controlled by a Billionaire warmonger-jewish Oligarchy.
Both of these empires are my enemy. Neither are redeemable, and for the good of Mankind, both need to be overthrown.
I will cheer from the sidelines as these two empires wreck unfathomable destruction upon one another. Both nations – and their people – deserve all the fallout – possibly literally – this will invite. Yes, I mean that.
Why?
To our eternal shame, we have not thrown down Satan’s Globo-homo American empire from within. God’s tools for rectifying what we were too comfortable and cowardly to do will be less… gentle.
God didn’t tell us to “sit back and post on the internet.” He told us to fight evil. To destroy it. To kill it when necessary. We ignored our duty, and passed the bloodshed to the next generation. Now my kids get to be the ones who will know the privation, suffering and terror of war.
So yes, I will cheer for Putin as he sticks his cock in the eye of our degenerate homosexual hegemony. Not because I think he is a “good guy” or “godly” or even because I believe he’s decidedly the “lesser of the two evils” in this instance, if only by a fraction.
I will cheer him on because, in a matter of months, Vlad’s done more damage to FUSA, (Satan’s Degenerate Pedo Barony), than WE, the supposed 3%, have managed in 30 years.
Satan’s playthings are wrecking each other. And Satan always breaks his toys when he’s done playing. I plan to enjoy it. Consequences? Yeah… there will be consequences. Dire ones. We bought them when we didn’t overthrow this hellish government. Our choice. Our actions (or lack there of). We bought it. Now we reap the harvest we planted.
Such is God’s vengeance.
I leave you with the following quote:

Good Lord. This is why I sometimes close comments.
I am completely uninterested in anyone’s views of the geopolitics a world away. I don’t give a crap what you think. Is that clear enough? In fact, I don’t even care what I think. That’s not the point of any of this, and it wasn’t the point of David’s piece either. Not a single one of you even commented on the main thrust of David’s piece, which was the 2A and how that all plays into what you should think of how it applies to us and our milieu.
So to begin with, stop using the phrase “Globohomo lobby.” It’s dumb. It sounds like you just visited Vox Day and learned the phrase and then you’re going everywhere dropping your droppings with that phrase in it.
It’s dumb because it doesn’t even begin to think about beginning to start to even slightly touch what’s really happening, neither in the cause, nor the scope and expanse of the issues, nor the solution to any of them.
The world leaders, all of them, have just given deadly mRNA injections to the world population. That was wicked. The WEF and WMF have engaged in usury on a global scale, thus enslaving men and women. It isn’t just usury – it’s usury on a massive scale, unlike anything you’ve seen before. That’s wicked. The bible has something to say about usury.
Next up, the world leaders want to steal your wealth – all of it. Thus, they intend to decash the system and own the only real banks left in existence, the national banks.
I could go on. And on. And on. And on.
Calling this the “Globohomo lobby” sounds like you’re just stupidly parroting the words of Putin, or somebody else (I don’t know whom, but whomever it is isn’t a thinking man).
Yes, we all know about the problems with Zelinskyy. I’ve pointed out all the problems with Putin. Here’s another tip for you. Homosexuality had as its punishment in the OT death. Guess what else did? Adultery, with the finger point right at Putin who had bastard children with a woman who wasn’t his wife.
THERE ARE NO WHITE HATS IN THIS CONFLICT. If you’re looking for a man to save you from anything, you’re no different from the children of Israel who worshipped the golden calf.
This problem is as old as history.
No man will save you. No man will save civilization. Ungodly men have put us where we are, and only godly men can return us to what we need to be to avoid God’s judgment and punishment.
If you want to drive this back a little further in American history, lazy, ignorant families had no answer for Horrace Mann, giving their children over the schools of communism to be trained in wickedness.
When I say the problem is with ungodly men, I don’t just mean world rulers. I mean everybody. The problem starts with the church. Bad theology, laziness, and a host of other things led to where we are, including seeing Christianity as a code of conduct.
The problem with homosexuality, or usury, or theft of wealth by the state, or anything else, isn’t related to merely no following a code of conduct. It’s a function of not having a direct, personal, salvific relationship with God through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the beginning of which is admitting that there is nothing a man can do to save himself.
Not baptism, not obeying the law (or trying to), not being a church member, not in paying your tithes, not anything. You see, that’s the scandal of the gospel.
Conduct follows the relationship with God, not precedes it, never perfectly, but always in forgiveness daily.
As for the notion that Putin will stick a finger in the eye of the lobby and “do more damage …,” blah, blah, blah, that’s fantasizing and make-believe. Nothing of the sort is happening, nothing of the sort will happen.
No military will crush your enemies. No nation-state will save Christianity. Grant in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
That will save Christianity, and God doesn’t need anyone’s help with that.
The longer you fixate on geopolitics, the longer you suck at the nipple of the devil. Its milk is sour. It won’t feed you. It will just make you sicker.
The longer you gaze upon the circus before you, the longer you ignore needful things.
Do you have guns?
Do you have ammo?
Do you have famly”
Do you have tribe?
Do you have food?
Is your wealth protected?
Do you have plans to “leave an inheritance to your children’s children,” as the Scriptures say of the “good man?”
Most important, do you have a salvific relationship with God through the shed blood of Jesus, who is The Christ?
Without that last one, the preceding things mean nothing because you will perish eternally.
Good Lord folks. It’s as if “depending upon whether you can just study enough to come to all the right conclusions about something you can’t change a world away, [what]?”
What good is it going to do you? What do you think will happen then? God doesn’t care what you think about geopolitics, and I sure don’t. God doesn’t grade on a curve, and He doesn’t keep a ledger of ‘+’ and ‘-‘ to judge you. And you won’t be judged for what Putin or Zelinsky does, nor even what you think about that conflict.
You are watching a football game and throwing your skirts up for your favorite player so he can see your ass. And waving pom poms for the precious team. Even if you don’t like the team, you think something good will come of a “win,” whatever that means.
I think perhaps I just need to shut down comments completely. Or perhaps the last 18 years of blogging have been to no avail, and no one is really listening.
Maybe it’s time to just shut down the blog. It seems to be doing no good at all.

David seems to venture into geopolitics with his article.
Should Ukraine and Russia allow free private ownership of arms? Yes.
Do they? No.
Is Ukraine properly equipping and training all volunteers that come to help? No.
Should we be dumping loads of armaments to one side only? If yes, why?
Will there be consequences and blowback from supplying one side?
Your blog. Shut it down if you want. I’ve been a regular reader for a long time.

David ventures into geopolitics in order to demonstrate the SAME THING I HAVE.
There are no white hats in the conflict. If anyone thinks there is, he is a fool.
If David’s list is incomplete on either side, feel free to send him the rest of your list.
The rest of your list won’t change my mind, and I suspect, nor his.
I have no need of a savior other than Jesus Christ. Neither side is fighting for me. Neither side will help me in anything. I cannot control what’s happening. I will NOT be a cheerleader for anyone, showing my ass to the world for a MAN.
I don’t care whether Russia or Ukraine allows the full and free ownership of weapons. I don’t care whether Ukraine is training anyone for anything. I have no need of lists of these things because I’m not at the football game cheering for a team waving pom poms.
I have stated that the U.S. should not get involved. It’s not our fight, it’s not our right. Men of military age should stay home with their wives and support them and raise their children.
I’m not sucking anyone’s tit.

I have no issue with the Ukrainian government arming their citizens … provided those citizens realize that they become armed combatants, and the Ukrainian government realizes that this opens the door to Russians killing everything that moves on the battlefield. Let’s not even get into the concept of spies, out-of-uniform combatants, and summary execution. Actions have consequences.
I don’t want to hear very much about civilian casualties unless there is hard evidence that it was not justified because of some armed civilian sniping at troops. If you turn a city into a block-by-block sniper and Molotov cocktail-fest fought by civilians, you have no legitimate complaint when the opposition decides to level city blocks with artillery and airstrikes.
