Bad Optic Mounting Can Destroy Your Handgun

From an engineer’s perspective (I am one), why would any manufacturer make and distribute plastic optic mounting plates? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
Who all does that? They should be ashamed of themselves. And their engineers should be ridiculed.

The best way is as the man says get your slide milled for the optic you choose. I have done this with two Glocks and used Trijicon RMRs for both. I have had no issues of any kind. The RMRs fit nice and tight and I would not want to use plates. I mark the screws so that I can notice any loosening. I shoot the Glock 19 quite a bit and have had no issues with the screws backing out.
I have replaced one of the batteries so far and did not have any problems stripping the screw heads. Get the screws form a quality manufacturer. It may be a good idea to replace the screws every other year if stripping them is a concern.
As an aside the Pew Pew tactical guy stated that he did not consider the Fix it Stix bits to be of good quality. I have a set and they seem very high quality to me. YMMV.
