Is Government the New God? – The Religion of Totalitarianism
BY PGF2 years, 5 months ago
We’ve long held that reliance on government is a religion. This piece with video explains it well.
Since the birth of totalitarianism in the 20th century much has been written about this form of rule and millions have read George Orwell’s depiction of it in the classic novel 1984. But what is often overlooked is that totalitarianism is more than just a political system, it is a fanatical religion, and this religion is spreading across the globe with a ferocity not seen since the mid-20th century. In this video we are going to investigate the religious nature of totalitarianism in the recognition that we must know our enemy if we are to defeat it. Shortly after fleeing Nazi Germany, the political scientist Waldemar Gurian wrote the following:
“The totalitarian movements that have arisen after the First World War are basically religious movements. Their aim is not only to change political and social institutions, but also to remodel the nature of man and society.”

Of course totalitarianism is the new religion and its distinction between authoritarianism and itself is important, most fascist regimes don’t seek to remake man into a homo Sovieticus but the Russian project was a total transformation of the internals of human behavior to a willing and helpful submission and obedience to the state. Its successor is the woke phenomenon which takes the suspension of reality and consensus to the next level.
In Romania in 1945-55, they conducted a hideous experiment on young students at Pitesti Prison to employ torture and other methods to completely change the nature of humanity internally. Alexander Solzhenitsyn called it the “most terrible acts of barbarism in the modern world”.
Stages of reeducation:
First stage:
Each subject of the experiment was initially thoroughly interrogated, with torture applied as a mean to expose intimate details of his life (“external unmasking”). Hence, they were required to reveal everything they were thought to have hidden from previous interrogations; hoping to escape torture, many prisoners would confess to imaginary misdeeds.
Second stage:
The second phase, “internal unmasking,” required the tortured to reveal the names of those who had behaved less brutally or with relative indulgence to them in detention.
Third stage:
Public humiliation was also enforced, usually at the third stage (“public moral unmasking”), inmates were forced to denounce all their personal beliefs, loyalties, and values. Notably, religious inmates had to blaspheme religious symbols and sacred texts.

“Eugen Turcanu, became the representation of complete dehumanization. His transformation from a prisoner into chief torturer proved the success of this unimaginable experiment. At least one hundred students died because of the injuries, and only two could kill themselves.”

One of Biden/Obama’s advisors just said that an 85% disapproval ranking was irrelevant to the goals of the Green New Deal. So the march to destruction will continue until moral improves. I don’t think these people have gamed out the dynamics of starvation. That could get ugly in a hurry.
The economy was wrecked on purpose and now they want to go to war with Russia. Interesting times indeed.

The search for meaning is the defining characteristic of being human. People will find meaning somewhere. It can be a positive journey, say through Christianity where the general, albeit imperfect, message is to love thy neighbor, to be humble, and try to do better than you did yesterday, and that being human you’ll screw up but forgiveness is available. Or you can worship money, abortion, fame, Fauci, join that weird climate cult, or worship big government. They even have their sacraments, like getting 4+ clot shots, wearing a mask when alone in a car, being proud of getting multiple abortion, driving an electric car that isn’t green in any way, etc.
It’s why communist societies ALWAYS evolve into mass murder. If your goal is to create a perfect human society for the benefit of all mankind, which is a very lofty goal, then it’s okay if you have to kill a few million people to get there.

Totalitarianism existed prior to the 20th century. Russian czars, Chinese emperors, Japanese emperors, Kings in European countries, going back to biblical times, Egyptian Pharaohs. Probably farther back than that. History doesn’t always repeat, but it often rhymes.

Reliance on government which denies any public duty by government agents, albeit a vague general duty towards the public at large, is a foolish thing indeed. https://digitalcommons.law.villanova.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2592&context=vlr
