“TruckPOCALYPSE” begins in California this week as 70,000 truckers forced off the roads

70,000 trucker contractors to be forced off the roads in California (which also affects the balance of the U.S.).
Did you know this was happening?
As I’ve said so many times before. Droughts are natural. All famines are man-made.

I’m not sure this will be as bad as it sounds. It’s not good for sure but I think this applies only to CA companies that use owner – operators for some loads. I think companies that are HQ’d in other states can still use O-O’s to drop and pickup in CA, *I think*.
This will definitely hurt those men and women who’s livelihood is vested in their one truck hauling 60 or more driving hours a week.
This could be hugely disruptive to the supply chain. 70,000 people don’t simply do the same thing but someplace else. These folks will be struggling to get the same number of loads per month from other companies.
On the plus side, that 70,000 number may be total O-O’s in the country and I can tell you with assurance that truckers already don’t haul into CA if they can avoid it and still make good money, which a person can do. One of the big pluses of owning your own rig is you can take the runs you want, NY and CA are where the newbie company drivers get stuck with hauling loads. The regs and tickets already make those commie states the last place a trucker wants to haul.
It could be bad but it’s not that 70,000 loads out of CA every week will suddenly stop shipping.
