From American Military News (AMN) via The Gun Feed. Mr. Dicken made the correct choice.
An administrator of the Facebook group “Indiana Gun Free Zones” created a photoshop rendering of the incredible 40-yard shot that armed citizen Eli Dicken took with a pistol to stop an active shooter at an Indiana mall last week.
“My photoshop rendering of what Eli Dicken’s point of view & distance to the shooters location might have been. The red X is generalized location of were [sic] the shooter was firing from,” Jason Lee posted on Facebook along with the image.
I think Mr. Dicken landed 8 of 10 shots. The journalism at AMN is just as bad as at MSN. Note the backdrop; that’s a shot any firearms carrier should be able to take.

I can’t imagine the focus and nerves of steel it took to connect on 8 of 10 shots at that distance under those circumstances in the time frame in which it happened. I can imagine that food court full of people running and screaming, which would add to the level of distraction in calmly hitting your target. If his shots were all taken offhand it was truly a case of amazing shooting.
Mr. Dicken is indeed one cool dude. And then there’s the possibility that the Good Lord might have helped to guide his hand in eliminating evil.
