These are well known dangerous game loads. I don’t think the point was to test the rounds against bears. I think the point was to compare one with another.

I’d like to see that same test done in wet phone books/newsprint or ballistics gel or even the old box of water jugs some guys used to do.
I usually load up some 300 gr. Hornady XTPs in my .44’s if I’m headed into bear territory. Or, I’ll even carry a .357 mag with 158 gr. bullets and not feel undergunned.
