Fed up with 4-H focus on DEI, local group forms an alternative

Only the Revolution is sacred; all else must be subsumed.
One family in Southeast Kansas took a hard look at what was happening in the 4-H program they’d been a part of most of their lives and decided to take a stand.
Charla King, her husband Ross King, and three of their five children (two are too young) are — or rather were — very active in the Cherokee County 4-H chapter. But disheartened by the stands the national chapter seemed to be taking, and after being roundly ignored by the national group and essentially blown off by the state organization, the Kings are starting an alternative organization. They’re calling it “Heritage Youth of America.”
[…]
Being devout Christians as well, the Kings did a bit more digging, finding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Critical Race Theory, and other social justice issues taking prominence at the national level and scattered across the website.
The final straw, King said, was when she found out that at a 4-H camp over the summer, a biological boy was housed in a girls’ dorm.
Animal Husbandry and family and small farming are growing increasingly important. While we admire them for trying to start an organization with traditional values, staying local with trusted associates is the only way to go. You don’t need another centralized organization; you need friends with morals and skills in your immediate area.

The Achilles’ Heel of organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, and now 4H as well, the means by which the big-shots seize control of these entities, is via corporate donations and funding from leftist foundations, like the Ford Foundation and many others. The money, alas, doesn’t come without strings attached. Take the loot, and you’ll have to dance to their tune eventually.
Metaphorically-speaking, don’t give them a “head” to cut off, a leadership cadre or single-source funding apparatus that the communists can seize, defeat in court, or otherwise work to control or co-opt, or failing that, cause to go out of business.
Local, decentralized and difficult to pin down. Informal. These are your watch words… and if funding is done locally and in the right manner, it will also be tough to track. Above all, do not incorporate or establish as a non-profit or a 501C3. Once that’s done, you’ve given the bad guys an aiming point, should they want it… for their “lawfare”…

Dang. My family has been involved in 4-H and FFA since I was a little kid. My kids are grown and gone, but my niece is a small animal leader in her area.
It was a decent organization, at one time. So was the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts.
Saw what looked like Boy Scouts selling popcorn in front of the store, the other day. Only, none of them were boys, including the leader. Stop the world, I want off.

As a Shooting Sports leader I know we are not, have not, nor will anyone in our leadership embrace this nonsense. Almost all of our leaders are also Christians and are working hard to educate our children in ethics and responsibility. Our children have been in 4H 7 years and 6 years respectively, and this is the first I have heard of this crap!

Very well said! This is the way local churches will have to operate soon.
