You’re Never In More Danger Than When The Cops Are Around
BY Herschel Smith2 years ago
The follow-on remarks over Twitter show that this cop apparently thought this guy was someone who ran from him on a previous occasion, and that was an error.
There is no possible world where this isn’t attempted murder. But the problem is that this isn’t a bad cop. This is a normal, everyday, average cop.

Apparently, he’s already been fired.
(although arrest for attemted murder would be more appropriate)

Reports are that the cop was a “probationary” officer. Thus they didn’t need a reason to fire him and the union likely won’t try to defend him. Whether or not he faces charges remains to be seen. This cop was a bad cop. But more importantly he is a symptom of the bigger problem. The fact that the ONLY tool cops feel they have now is their gun. They revert to it almost by reflex without any thought process. This is because they are trained nonstop from day one to view ANYONE not wearing a badge as “THE ENEMY” and told nonstop from the academy to the day they retire to “Go home at the end of your shift no matter what you have to do”.

The kid was obviously guilty of Kontempt of Kop, which is the most heinous crime one can commit. The penalty is summary execution in the field.

Many moons ago I saw an electronic sign at a local mega church saying

hundreds of cop cars from all over in the lot. The training cadre traveled the country to tell cops what Dan said. No badge, ENEMY. Shortly after that was when peoples tail wagging dogs started getting shot.

So the assholes in blue charged the victim with “evading police and aggravated assault” for failing to just sit there and soak up more 9mm shots from some armed government fuckwit.

Open season, screw the bag limit.
One by one by one.
There wouldn’t be a living cop alive in that town a year later who was alive the day that happened. Not. One.
The new hires could then ponder the lesson at their leisure.
The only thing that would stop me would be prosecuting the cop for that attempted murder, judicially and mercilessly hammering him into the ground pour encourager les autres (10-20 and no early parole), firing outright every officer in that idiot’s chain of command who trained him, and demoting every one who supervised him and turned him loose on his own, from Day One to that incident, from the chief on down.
No? Then tell the city to stock up on caskets and flags.
They need to start living under the same rules as everyone else.
If I’m not safe from the police, the police will not be safe from me.
Fair is fair.
And this is why we always lock our car doors.

Careful, Assop you’re showing your true colors.
Of course, as you probably work for one of the alphabet agencies nothing will come of your threats to law enforcement.

Dun,
If that were my kid or kin, then that would be a threat to law enforcement.
The boy is neither, therefore no threat has been issued.
English is funny like that.
Perhaps you might undertake to learn its depths before diving in headfirst.
Just saying.
Best wishes.

Granted, I don’t hang out here lots. But from what I’ve read here to dat, I wouldn’t have expected that kind of claim from you, Mr. Smith. I knew a few cops. They must be above average. And I watch plenty of body/dashcam vids on YT (Code Blue, Video Leak Police, Police Activity, etc.) They don’t seem to discriminate between legit and illegit police activity … and the legit far outnumbers the illegit.
Yeah, this cop screwed up bad. But for whatever reason, the young Mr. Cantu to try to flee the cop, rather than waiting around for the answer to his Q, “Why get out of the car?” Quite contrary to PGF’s claim, “Checked the vehicle if it was in park, put both hands on the wheel,” Cantu slammed it in reverse and tried to flee.
I’m NOT excusing this cop’s actions. I agree with him being fired and charged, and I hope he’s tried, convicted, and punished to the nth degree.
But let’s don’t pretend that Cantu would be in MUCH better shape today had he simply complied, and redressed any policy violations / rights violations later, whether before the cop’s chain of command, or in court. A live dog is better than a dead lion (Ecclesiastes 9).
(And let’s pretend for the sake of argument that this WAS a “normal, everyday, average cop.” What course of action is more likely to preserve your hide? Flight, or compliance?)
I’m in general agreement with Brian Redmond re. this incident: https://youtu.be/8e2wTR8BqKw?t=2092
