ATF Pistol Brace Rule Drops

I’m sure you can find the link for it so I won’t provide it here. As I’ve said before, I don’t own any pistol-braced weapons. Nonetheless, I’m sure readers need to know this information. Most readers already know, but if you don’t, you are the one who needs to hear these things.

Interestingly, market dynamics just kicked in. One can get high-quality braced pistols at a deep discount.
I was scanning through the rule. (The lawyer in the second video called it a law. I know he misspoke, but he should know better.) It appears to be rife with potential contradictions that can be used to ensnare anybody who thinks they are complying. I predict a lot of boating trips in the next few months.
Here’s the rule

I’m certain criminals will now only use handguns and rifles for armed robbery and murder since pistol braces are outlawed.

This’ll see some heavy court action. Many people using braces – for whatever reason – probably have or are aware of official letters previously issued by tech evaluators specifically stating that a brace is a brace & doesn’t make a pistol into an SBR. Further, there are letters in the wild – including one back to a manufacturer – that confesses (paraphrased) “we evaluate the device, not the user’s intent, and frankly don’t care if you shoulder it or not.”
Also, even with a no-fee filing period, they deprive folks in some states where pistols are allowed, but SBRs are not. Convert to an SBR even for free and it’s now illegal in some states. Let the barrister tanks roll out of their encampments.

The commentator in the second video misses the point when he says regulatory agencies should not be allowed to create laws.
While correct, the precedent is already out there in many places…CDC prohibiting landlords from evicting tenants for non-payment of rent, and other like issues.
Many of these agencies are totally unconstitutional, but we the people have not seen fit to demand that our elected representatives eliminate them and actually do the job of managing government themselves. Oh the job is too big? Then delegate those tasks to the several states….

Jon, West Virginia vs. EPA just put a major weapon in the hands of those fighting against agencies “creating law”.
