Concealed Carry: .40 S/W vs. .45 ACP

This is one of his older videos and is interesting in that the rounds show similar results. With nearly the same weight in selected ammo, they have comparable velocities. Shooting the cinder blocks, it appears the .40 may even have a slight edge, but concealed carry isn’t for shooting cinder blocks. Watching Mr. Harrell shoot the blocks was a good reminder not to point your weapon at anything you’re not willing to destroy. There are a variety of examinations conducted. One thing is for certain; he’s a pretty good shot.

I look at all of these things like Ford/Chevy truck debates.
Seeing the video evidence out there makes the debate more confusing. Theres that one cop video from recently where he pumps 7-12 9mms into the guys chest at close range and he still manages to get to and assault the officer? Would .45ACP have fared any different? Ended up bleeding out and died, but all those bullets STILL didn’t stop the threat.
Put a bullet in the guys face, don’t care if its a .22LR, he’s gonna stop. If its anything bigger, he doesn’t have a face.

The gel tests lucky gunner did a few years back prove any modern +p round does the job, they all penetrated 12-18″ or better, even the .380s. Its shot placement.
Bears can take several shotgun tubes full of 00-buckshot and keep coming.
Crackheads don’t feel 45s, they keep coming.
How many hog/boar videos show 30-cal rifle rounds not putting them down?
But hit a vital organ, or CNS, and they drop like a sack of potatoes.
Shot placement.
Get out there and practice!
