One Reason People Don’t Trust Law Enforcement

Oh, I can think of a lot more reasons than one. Frankly, I wonder if LEOs know this sort of thing is reason for disdain, scorn and contempt?

On the Calguns forum, several times I wrote of my opposition to police enjoying exemptions to gun control laws which did not include the general citizenry. Aside from the ‘shut up peon’ type responses were a few comments worth noting. Those comments suggested that the police would lose their favored exemptions if people not sworn law enforcement were included. After more back and forth commentary, it became quite evident that police preferred the status as exempt more than the equity with the general citizenry.
Further, this is proven every time a gun control bill advertises the support of various law enforcement departments or agencies. The simple fact is an ‘us vs them’ mentality has been created and cops are fine with that in this context. Yet they also like to say, We’re citizens too. when it suits them.
