   The guy ran off and that was all there was to it, right? Wrong! The dude called the cops on my guy for threatening him with a gun! My guy was also a Lt with the VFD and had a radio. He called the attempted robbery/carjacking in to the county dispatch and had a sheriff’s deputy sent out right away.

   Idiot thug went to jail. I think he figured he was going to get my guy in trouble, which is why he stuck around – maybe get him arrested, then steal his Jeep if it got left on the side of the road. I really have no idea what the thug was thinking, but he wound up in the back of the sheriff’s car before it was all done.

   If you have family or friends from rural America who do not know these skills, don’t let ’em loose in your city without imparting them. Do the right thing.

   All of this sounds melodramatic and difficult, but after you have lived in an urban area for a while, it becomes second nature.
